Ear and Hearing, 1990The development of hand-held auditory screening devices has led to increased hearing screening by physicians. Ambient noise levels were assessed in examination rooms of 20 physician offices. Measurements provided Ln, Leq, Lmax, and octave band data for specialty types: pediatrics, internal medicine, family practice and otolaryngology.
