The Accuracy of
ObjectiveThe Control of Noise at Work Regulations came into force in Great Britain in 2005, requiring all work environments to be monitored for potentially harmful noise exposure levels. This study evaluated the effectiveness of a number of iPhone phone applications (apps) (Apple, Cupertino, CA) to accurately measure noise exposure, which may prove ...

Machine learning for spatial interpolation of noise monitor levels
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2018Continuously recording noise monitoring stations provide feedback of the noise environment at monitor locations. While this feedback is useful, it only provides information at a few point locations and, in many cases, it is of interest to know the noise level(s) at locations between and beyond noise monitoring locations.

Identification of monitoring stations for noise levels in Durrës city, Albania
Pollack Periodica, 2022Abstract This paper represents a noise pollution survey in Durrës city, Albania. There are four survey areas defined: A (central), B (industrial), C (suburban), D (residential + beach) during two intervals times (morning and night). The equipment used for noise measurement was Testo 816-1 where data were categorized according to

Optimization of ambient seismic noise interferometry to monitor groundwater level variations.
2020<p>&#160;In this work, we test the cross-correlation of ambient seismic noise method in monitoring underground water variations. Within this perspective we applied the abovementioned technique to study the water table changes occurring both in areas exploited for drinking water needs and inside landslides.

A Distributed Sensor Network for Monitoring Noise Level and Noise Sources in Urban Environments
2018 IEEE 6th International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud (FiCloud), 2018Smart city applications for acoustic monitoring become essential to cope with the overall increasing noise pollution in urban environments. This paper gives an overview over a distributed sensor network for noise monitoring in the German city of Jena.

An On-die Oscilloscope for System-Level ESD Noise Monitoring
2019 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, Signal & Power Integrity (EMC+SIPI), 2019An on-die oscilloscope circuit is proposed for monitoring of system-level electrostatic discharge (ESD) noises at a power supply or signal line of an integrated circuit (IC). The noise waveform is sampled and converted to digital data in real time. ESD event detector circuits provide a trigger signal for holding the digital data when the ESD event is ...

A hybrid geostatistical-acoustical (geo-acoustic) model is proposed as a method for estimating single-event noise levels over a large region from data obtained from a small number of noise monitors. The geo-acoustic model is developed using geostatistical theory and an environmental acoustic-propagation-based regression model.

On-Chip monitors of supply noise generated by system-level ESD
2017 39th Electrical Overstress/Electrostatic Discharge Symposium (EOS/ESD), 2017Two supply noise monitor circuits are demonstrated on a 130-nm test chip. These monitors are capable of providing quantitative measurements of on-chip supply voltage perturbations resulting from system-level ESD. Circuit-level simulations reproduce all trends found in the measurement results.
