On transformation noise as a model for correlated noise
[Proceedings] ICASSP 91: 1991 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1991The authors consider transformation noise processes, which are those that can be generated by passing an underlying noise process through a memoryless invertible nonlinearity. They point out the close relationship between the dependency structure of the transformation noise and that of the underlying noise.

IMPLICIT MODELING OF NOISE VERSUS THE USE OF A FIXED NOISE MODEL
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1990Abstract In this paper two methods to take disturbances into account are discussed. The first method uses a fixed estimate T of the noise polynomial C of the ARMAX model. This approach is adopted by the Generalized Predictive Controller. The second method implicitly estimates the noise polynomial utilizing the implicit modeling theory.
