Airport Noise Monitoring

This report describes the monitoring requirements of the proposed noise regulations for California airports. The requirements include measuring the noise of each aircraft under the takeoff and approach paths at points which are analogous to those of the Federal Aviation Regulation for aircraft certification.

Abstract A new portable instrument has been developed that records the total amount of time a worker is exposed, at or above a selected noise level. It is small, light, and designed to be worn on the person while at work. This will permit significant measurement of total exposure time during a man's movements about his work.
