Microstructure Reconstruction in Battery Electrodes Using Machine Learning Based on Low‐Voltage Focused Ion Beam–Scanning Electron Microscopy Tomography Images

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Diagnostic Symptoms of Corona Audible Noise in Continuous Monitoring Systems

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2013
Random nature of corona processes in UHV power lines and the accompanying noise is the reason that in practice the best determination of acoustic parameters, necessary for the noise evaluation, is obtained from the continuous monitoring procedure ...

From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.

Portuguese real estate taxation, land use and noise [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The goal of this study is the analysis of noise influence on real estate values as Portuguese Noise Code enforces building restrictions on municipal urban areas exceeding established noise limits.

Machine Learning‐Supported Analysis for Predicting and Visualizing Nonlinear Relationships Between Material Properties in Electroplated Chromium Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

A Noise Reduction Study on Flow-Permeable Trailing-Edges

open access: yes, 2007
This paper summarizes the results of an experimental study on flow-permeable comb-type trailing-edges which have the potential to effectively reduce turbulent boundary-layer trailing-edge noise.

Estimation of influence of correlated non-Gaussian noise on measuring accuracy of signal information parameters

open access: yesФизика волновых процессов и радиотехнические системы, 2018
The potential measuring accuracy of the signal information parameters on background of non-Gaussian correlated additive and multiplicative noise in short range conditions is estimated.

Shot Noise with Random Parameters

open access: yes, 2013
We give the description of the following model: $$ U_{n}=X_{n}(Y_{n}+U_{n-1})$$ for $n>1$ in the case where the $X_{n}$ are i.d.d. random variables with probability density: $$ A x^{A-1} , x \in [0,1] ,$$ $A$ is also a random variable distributed according to a Gamma law. The $ Y_{n}$ are or deterministic and equal to $1$ or independent Gamma random

Reconfigurable Logic‐in‐Memory Operations Enabled by Triple‐Gated Feedback Field‐Effect Transistors for Area‐Efficient Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable logic‐in‐memory cell composed of triple‐gated feedback field‐effect transistors implements multiple combinational logic functions within a single configuration. By utilizing program gates as dynamic input terminals, the proposed cell performs full adder, full subtractor, 2‐to‐1 multiplexer, and 4‐to‐2 encoder operations without ...

Triple Junctions as Dislocation‐Like Defects: The Role of Grain Boundary Crystallography Revealed by Experiment and Atomistic Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Grain boundary triple junctions are an essential ingredient of the microstructure of polycrystalline materials. In this study, a triple junction is observed using atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and characterized. Computer simulations reveal that the junction has a dislocation character that is determined by the joining ...
