Noise Radar Technology and Quantum Radar: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

2022 IEEE 2nd Ukrainian Microwave Week (UkrMW), 2022
In spite of the centennial age of radar, this technology is facing continuous progress. This overview paper considers two significant items in this field, namely Noise Radar Technology (NRT) and Quantum Radar (QR). Status, ongoing research and future perspectives are briefly discussed, not forgetting some critical and controversial elements.

Orthogonal waveforms for multiradar and MIMO radar using noise radar technology

2015 Signal Processing Symposium (SPSympo), 2015
In many radar applications, including marine, automotive and MIMO, there is a need for orthogonal transmission from different radar sets to mitigate mutual interference; the same applies to the different channels in a MIMO radar. New techniques, belonging to the cyclic algorithm family, might be used to generate orthogonal signals with, in addition ...

Principles and applications of coherent random noise radar technology

SPIE Proceedings, 2003
Random noise radar is rapidly emerging as a promising technique for high-resolution probing and imaging of obscured objects and interfaces. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has developed and field-tested coherent ultra wideband polarimetric random noise radar systems that show great promise in their ability to estimate Doppler and image target and ...

Millimeter wave noise radar technology

Third International Kharkov Symposium 'Physics and Engineering of Millimeter and Submillimeter Waves'. MSMW'98. Symposium Proceedings (Cat. No.98EX119), 2002
We present the main results of theoretical and experimental development of the NRT (noise radar technology) for the MM waveband which has been studied at the Laboratory of Nonlinear Dynamics of Electronic Systems (LNDES) of the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since 1990.

Potential applications of noise radar technology and related waveform diversity

2016 17th International Radar Symposium (IRS), 2016
The advantages of Noise Radar Technology over more conventional radars using deterministic, although sophisticated, waveforms are twofold: Low Probability of Interception/Exploitation of radar signals and mitigation of mutual interference in marine crowded environments.
