The Meaning of Silence for Mastering the Practitioner’s Reflective Skills
The aim of the article is to show the meaning of practicing silence, enhancing the quality of the reflective skills of the reflective practitioner. These skills – being, speaking, disclosing, testing, and probing – reveal one’s reflective competences ...

Suppression Method of Optical Noises in Resonator-Integrated Optic Gyroscopes
Resonator-integrated optical gyroscopes have advantages such as all-solid-state, on-chip integration, miniaturized structure, and high precision. However, many factors deteriorate the performance and push it far from the shot-noise limited theoretical ...

Noise analysis of reflection‐type microwave RTD amplifier [PDF]
This study reports an analysis of noise figures (NFs) in a reflection‐type microwave amplifier using resonant tunnelling diodes (RTDs). The minimum NF for the RTD amplifier based on 0.9 μm InP process technology, featuring a power gain ( S 21 ) of 10.4 dB and a dc‐power ...

Contour Matching-Based Nondiffuse Reflection Noise Point Cloud Detection Method
To mitigate the impact of nondiffuse reflection noise in light detection and ranging (LiDAR) point clouds on the mapping accuracy of simultaneous localization and mapping technology, this paper proposes a contour-matching-based method for detecting ...

Comparison and Noise Suppression of the Transmitted and Reflected Photoplethysmography Signals [PDF]
The photoplethysmography (PPG) is inevitably corrupted by many kinds of noise no matter whether its acquisition mode is transmittance or reflectance. To enhance the quality of PPG signals, many studies have made great progress in PPG denoising by adding extra sensors and developing complex algorithms.

On-Orbit Noise Characterization for MODIS Reflective Solar Bands [PDF]
MODIS collects data in 36 spectral bands, with wavelengths from 0.41 to 14.4 mum, and at three nadir spatial resolutions: 0.25 km, 0.5 km, and 1 km. MODIS reflective solar bands (RSB) on-orbit calibration is performed using an on-board solar diffuser (SD) and a solar diffuser stability monitor (SDSM).

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
