A new approach for Cauchy noise removal
In this paper, a new total generalized variational (TGV) model for restoring images with Cauchy noise is proposed, which contains a non-convex fidelity term and a TGV regularization term. In order to obtain a strictly convex model, we add an appropriate proximal term to the non-convex fidelity term.

HOS-based image sequence noise removal [PDF]
In this paper, a new spatiotemporal filtering scheme is described for noise reduction in video sequences. For this purpose, the scheme processes each group of three consecutive sequence frames in two steps: 1) estimate motion between frames and 2) use motion vectors to get the final denoised current frame.

Speech Enhancement using Kernel and Normalized Kernel Affine Projection Algorithm
The goal of this paper is to investigate the speech signal enhancement using Kernel Affine Projection Algorithm (KAPA) and Normalized KAPA. The removal of background noise is very important in many applications like speech recognition, telephone ...

Impact of noise and damage on collective dynamics of scale-free neuronal networks
We study the role of scale-free structure and noise in collective dynamics of neuronal networks. For this purpose, we simulate and study analytically a cortical circuit model with stochastic neurons.

Consensus image method for unknown noise removal [PDF]
Noise removal has been, and it is nowadays, an important task in computer vision. Usually, it is a previous task preceding other tasks, as segmentation or reconstruction. However, for most existing denoising algorithms the noise model has to be known in advance.

Salt and Pepper Noise: Effects and Removal
Noises degrade image quality which causes information losing and unsatisfying visual effects. Salt and Pepper noise is one of the most popular noises that affect image quality. In RGB color image Salt and pepper noise changes the number of occurrences of colors combination depending on the noise ratio.

Comparative performance of catalytic Fenton oxidation with zero-valent iron (Fe(0)) in comparison with ferrous sulphate for the removal of micropollutants [PDF]
This research aims to depict the comparative performance of micropollutants’ removal by FeSO4- and zero-valent iron (Fe(0))-catalytic Fenton oxidation and to explore the possibilities of minimising the sludge production from the process.

High Density Noise Removal by Using Cascading Algorithms [PDF]
An advanced non-linear cascading filter algorithm for the removal of high density salt and pepper noise from the digital images is proposed. The proposed method consists of two stages. The first stage Decision base Median Filter (DMF) acts as the preliminary noise removal algorithm.

Multiplicative Noise Removal Using L1 Fidelity on Frame Coefficients [PDF]
We address the denoising of images contaminated with multiplicative noise, e.g. speckle noise. Classical ways to solve such problems are filtering, statistical (Bayesian) methods, variational methods, and methods that convert the multiplicative noise ...
