Neural Network System for Recognizing Images Affected by Random-Valued Impulse Noise
Images taken with different sensors and transmitted through different channels can be noisy. In such conditions, the image most often suffers from random-valued impulse noise.

PIMA-CT: Physical Model-Aware Cyclic Simulation and Denoising for Ultra-Low-Dose CT Restoration
A body of studies has proposed to obtain high-quality images from low-dose and noisy Computed Tomography (CT) scans for radiation reduction. However, these studies are designed for population-level data without considering the variation in CT devices and

Impulsive noise removal image ehancement technique [PDF]
Several areas like remote sensing, biomedical analysis, and computer vision require good image contrast and details for better interpretations and diagnoses’s. In the literature various image enhancement algorithms have been proposed to improve the perceptual aspects of the image for poorly contrasted images.

Noise and aliases in off-axis and phase-shifting holography [PDF]
We have compared the respective efficiencies of off-axis and phase-shifting holography in terms of noise and aliases removal. The comparison is made by analyzing holograms of an USAF target backlit with laser illumination, recorded with a charge-coupled ...

HOS-based image sequence noise removal [PDF]
In this paper, a new spatiotemporal filtering scheme is described for noise reduction in video sequences. For this purpose, the scheme processes each group of three consecutive sequence frames in two steps: 1) estimate motion between frames and 2) use motion vectors to get the final denoised current frame.

On Estimating the QSO Transmission Power Spectrum [PDF]
We present new methods to minimize the systematic and random errors for measuring the transmission power spectrum from the Lyman-alpha forest. Sources of systematic errors explored include metal line contamination and continuum-fitting.

Noise removal from multiple MRI images [PDF]
We introduce a novel technique for magnetic resonance image (MRI) restoration, using a physical model (spin equation). We determine a set of three basis images (proton density and nuclear relaxation times) from the MRI data using a nonlinear optimization method, and use those images to obtain restorations of the original image.

Voxel-Based Spatial Filtering Method for Canopy Height Retrieval from Airborne Single-Photon Lidar
Airborne single-photon lidar (SPL) is a new technology that holds considerable potential for forest structure and carbon monitoring at large spatial scales because it acquires 3D measurements of vegetation faster and more efficiently than conventional ...
