Multi‐Scaled Cellulosic Nanonetworks from Tunicates

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Microbial and plant nanonetworks of cellulose have enabled a wide range of high‐performance yet sustainable materials. Herein, a third class of cellulosic nanonetworks is showcased by exploiting the only animal tissue‐producing cellulose nanofibers, i.e., ascidians. An ultrastructure including spherical cells and a microvasculature with diameters of 50–

VideoDP: A Universal Platform for Video Analytics with Differential Privacy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Massive amounts of video data are ubiquitously generated in personal devices and dedicated video recording facilities. Analyzing such data would be extremely beneficial in real world (e.g., urban traffic analysis, pedestrian behavior analysis, video surveillance).

Background modeling by shifted tilings of stacked denoising autoencoders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The effective processing of visual data without interruption is currently of supreme importance. For that purpose, the analysis system must adapt to events that may affect the data quality and maintain its performance level over time.

Narrowband Detection via Charge Collection Narrowing Organic Photodetector Enabled by Low Bandgap Random Terpolymer for Biometric Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel low‐bandgap random terpolymer is designed for narrow band detection in charge collection narrowing (CCN) based organic photodetectors. With a relative thin active layer (<1 µm), the CCN‐based devices achieved a narrowband response of 68 nm full‐width‐at‐half‐maximum at 916 nm, together with Responsivity values of 0.13 A W−1 and dark current of ...

Video Denoising Based on a Spatiotemporal Kalman-Bilateral Mixture Model

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2013
We propose a video denoising method based on a spatiotemporal Kalman-bilateral mixture model to reduce the noise in video sequences that are captured with low light.

Continuous-Time Video Generation via Learning Motion Dynamics with Neural ODE [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In order to perform unconditional video generation, we must learn the distribution of the real-world videos. In an effort to synthesize high-quality videos, various studies attempted to learn a mapping function between noise and videos, including recent efforts to separate motion distribution and appearance distribution.

Roulette‐Inspired Physical Unclonable Functions: Stochastic yet Deterministic Multi‐Bit Patterning through the Solutal Marangoni Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Geometric multi‐bit patterning based on dynamic wetting and dewetting phenomena creates roulette‐like Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) labels with stochastic yet deterministic properties. This method leverages the solutal‐Marangoni effect for high randomness while achieving deterministic multinary patterns through polygonal confinement of binary ...

Dancing under the stars: video denoising in starlight [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Imaging in low light is extremely challenging due to low photon counts. Using sensitive CMOS cameras, it is currently possible to take videos at night under moonlight (0.05-0.3 lux illumination). In this paper, we demonstrate photorealistic video under starlight (no moon present, $<$0.001 lux) for the first time.

Tailoring Hole‐Blocking Layers Enables a Versatile Approach for Fast Photomultiplication‐Type Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the role of hole‐blocking layers (HBLs), particularly the combination of two HBLs in photomultiplication‐type organic photodetectors (PM‐OPDs), which results in high gain and record‐fast response. The proposed HBL strategy also allows for the use of photoactive layer with balanced donor–acceptor stoichiometry, which can be ...

Orbiter CCTV video signal noise analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
The amount of steady state and transient noise which will couple to orbiter CCTV video signal wiring is predicted. The primary emphasis is on the interim system, however, some predictions are made concerning the operational system wiring in the cabin ...
