Broadband, Flexible, Skin‐Compatible Carbon Dots/Graphene Photodetectors for Wearable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Broadband, flexible photodetectors integrating nitrogen‐rich carbon dots with single‐layer graphene on plastic substrates are demonstrated. A biocompatible chitosan–glycerol electrolyte enables efficient low‐voltage gating and on‐skin operation. The devices exhibit ultraviolet‐to‐near‐infrared response, mechanical robustness under bending, and verified

Detecting extreme mass ratio inspirals with LISA using time-frequency methods II: search characterization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The inspirals of stellar-mass compact objects into supermassive black holes constitute some of the most important sources for LISA. Detection of these sources using fully coherent matched filtering is computationally intractable, so alternative ...

Coherent Control of Nitrogen Nuclear Spins via the VB−${\rm V}_B^-$‐Center in Hexagonal Boron Nitride

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates coherent control of 15N nuclear spins coupled to VB−${\text{V}}_{\text{B}}^{-}$ centers in isotope‐enriched hexagonal boron nitride. Selective addressing via spin‐state mixing enables Rabi driving, quantum gates, and coherence times exceeding 10 μs$\umu{\rm s}$.

Detection of Gravitational Waves from Eccentric Compact Binaries [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Coalescing compact binaries have been pointed out as the most promising source of gravitational waves for kilometer-size interferometers such as LIGO. Gravitational wave signals are extracted from the noise in the detectors by matched filtering.

Phenomenology of amplitude-corrected post-Newtonian gravitational waveforms for compact binary inspiral: I. Signal-to-noise ratios [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We study the phenomenological consequences of amplitude-corrected post-Newtonian (PN) gravitational waveforms, as opposed to the more commonly used restricted PN waveforms, for the quasi-circular, adiabatic inspiral of compact binary objects. In the case

Biomaterials‐Based Hydrogel with Superior Bio‐Mimetic Ionic Conductivity and Tissue‐Matching Softness for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By mimicking the ion‐accelerating effect of ion channel receptors in neuron membranes, a biomaterials‐based ionic hydrogel (BIH) is developed, which offers a high ionic conductivity of 7.04 S m−1, outperforming conventional chitosan, cellulose, agarose, starch, and gelatin based ionic hydrogels.

FINDCHIRP: an algorithm for detection of gravitational waves from inspiraling compact binaries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Matched-filter searches for gravitational waves from coalescing compact binaries by the LIGO Scientific Collaboration use the FINDCHIRP algorithm: an implementation of the optimal filter with innovations to account for unknown signal parameters and to ...

Bio‐Inspired Multimodal Hardware Front‐End Enabled by 2D Floating‐Gate Memory for UAV Perception

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A MoS2/h‐BN /graphene floating‐gate memory underpins a bio‐inspired multimodal front end that integrates visual, inertial, and airflow cues. A 4 × 4 FG memory array encodes temporal intensity differences, while IMU‐ and airflow‐driven threshold modulation suppresses self‐motion artifacts, enabling fast, low‐power, robust autonomous UAV tracking and ...

A Novel Classification Framework for VLF/LF Lightning-Radiation Electric-Field Waveforms

open access: yesAtmosphere
The classification of very-low-frequency and low-frequency (VLF/LF) lightning-radiation electric-field waveforms is of paramount importance for lightning-disaster prevention and mitigation. However, traditional waveform classification methods suffer from
