Ultra‐compact 3 × 3 Nolen matrix beamforming network

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 2020
A novel compact 3 × 3 Nolen matrix beamforming network is proposed in this study. Unlike the Butler matrix and Blass matrix, in this design, the proposed feeding network only requires couplers and phase shifters and removes crossovers and load terminations.

Five-Beam Fully Metallic Nolen Matrix-Based Array Antenna for 5G Applications at 26 GHz

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation
[EN] The communication explores the development of a Nolen Matrix operating at 26 GHz (25.25 GHz¿26.75 GHz) using E-plane rectangular waveguides. The Nolen network comprises 5 coaxial input ports and 7 outputs, each linked to a linear array of 9 elements.

Discussion on Reciprocity, Unitary Matrix, and Lossless Multiple Beam Forming Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2015
The Lorentz reciprocity theorem enables us to establish that the transmitting and receiving patterns of any antenna are identical, provided some hypotheses on this antenna and the surrounding medium are satisfied.
