First conjunct complementiser agreement and the structure of coordination
A recurring question in relation to first conjunct agreement concerns the underlying structure of the coordination: is first conjunct agreement the result of agreement with the first conjunct of a nominal coordination, or is it the result of agreement ...

Postsyntactic Lowering and linear relations in Dagur noun phrases
In this paper, I investigate the unusual order between case and possessive morphemes in the endangered Mongolic language Dagur. It is observed in many languages that the case morpheme follows possessive markers, but Dagur uniformly exhibits the morpheme ...

The Ellipsis and Hierarchy in Nominals
Within the tradition of the so-called cartographic approach to syntax(cf. Rizzi 1997; Cinque 1994, 1999; Ntelitheos 2003, 2004), the fundamental proposition is that a universally ordered set of functional heads (e.g., topic or focus) occupies independent positions with distinct semantic or pragmatic properties.

The propredicative clitic in Italo-romance: a micro-parametric variation approach
In this paper we describe the distribution of propredicative clitics in nominal copular constructions across different Italo-romance varieties. Different lexical items are recruited from the lexicon to cliticize the predicative NP, all of them either ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation

This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Identity Conditions on Ellipsis [PDF]
This dissertation presents a new perspective on the identity condition underpinning ellipsis in natural language. It argues that the condition is irreducibly syntactic—at least in part—but the way this syntactic component works is different than ...
