AbstractI show that reputation alone can sustain nominal sovereign debt, which is subject to both the risks of default and opportunistic devaluations. Nominal debt combined with a countercyclical exchange rate policy allows more hedging against shocks than real savings if markets are incomplete. In Latin information structure is syntactically represented within noun and adjective phrases as well as at the clausal level. This chapter gives a syntax-semantics interface for topic and focus structures in nominal phrases, covering nomina agentis, nomina actionis, quantifiers, and continuous and discontinuous modifiers.
