Dependence Measure for non-additive model

open access: yes, 2013
We proposed a new statistical dependency measure called Copula Dependency Coefficient(CDC) for two sets of variables based on copula. It is robust to outliers, easy to implement, powerful and appropriate to high-dimensional variables. These properties are important in many applications.

Treatment Decision‐Making Roles and Preferences Among Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Decision‐making (DM) dynamics between adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, parents, and oncologists remain underexplored in diverse populations. We examined cancer treatment DM preferences among an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse group of AYAs and their parents.

Monotone and boolean unitary Brownian motions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The additive monotone (resp. boolean) unitary Brownian motion is a non-commutative stochastic process with monotone (resp. boolean) independent and stationary increments which are distributed according to the arcsine law (resp. Bernoulli law) .

Some Reverse Inequalities for Scalar Birkhoff Weak Integrable Functions

open access: yesAxioms
The Minkowski and Hölder inequalities play an important role in many areas of pure and applied mathematics, such as Convex Analysis, Probabilities, Control Theory, Fixed Point theorems, and Mathematical Economics.

Outer measures, measurability, and lattice regular measures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1996
Let X be an arbitrary non-empty set, and ℒ a lattice of subsets of X such that ∅, X∈ℒ. 𝒜(ℒ) denotes the algebra generated by ℒ and I(ℒ) those zero-one valued, non-trivial, finitely additive measures on 𝒜(ℒ)Iσ(ℒ) denotes those elements of I(ℒ) that are σ ...

Rapid Response to Trametinib Combined With Chemotherapy for Infant BRAF‐Fused Chiasmatic Glioma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Infants, less than 1 year, with chiasmatic gliomas (ICG) present a major therapeutic challenge due to large tumor size, decreased vision, rapid progression, and poor response to vincristine/carboplatin chemotherapy. The majority have a BRAF fusion, which may respond to downstream MEK inhibitors but response time is slow. There are no safety or

Generalized Additive Mixed-Models for Pharmacology Using Integrated Discrete Multiple Organ Co-Culture. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Integrated Discrete Multiple Organ Co-culture (IDMOC) is emerging as an in-vitro alternative to in-vivo animal models for pharmacology studies. IDMOC allows dose-response relationships to be investigated at the tissue and organoid levels, yet, these ...

Cognitive Functioning in Vorinostat‐Treated Pediatric and Young Adult Patients Over the First 180 Days After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Cognitive and psychological difficulties could negatively interfere with treatment adherence and quality of life before and after hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). Methods to mitigate these changes may have positive effects on treatment success.

General Markov Chains: Dimension of the Space of Invariant Finitely Additive Measures and Their Ergodicity—Problematic Examples

open access: yesMathematics
This study considers general Markov chains (MCs) with discrete time in an arbitrary phase space. The transition function of the MC generates two operators: T, which acts on the space of measurable functions, and A, which acts on the space of bounded ...

A PRSZT Registry Analysis of Prognostic Factors Influencing Survival and Relapse Rates After Second Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A second allogeneic (allo‐)hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT2) is a potential curative option for pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) following relapse after first allogeneic transplantation (HSCT1), but its efficacy is limited by high relapse rates and transplant‐related toxicity in highly pretreated ...
