Constitutive modeling for isotropic materials (HOST) [PDF]
The results of the first year of work on a program to validate unified constitutive models for isotropic materials utilized in high temperature regions of gas turbine engines and to demonstrate their usefulness in computing stress-strain-time-temperature

Advances in Electroactive Liquid Crystal Elastomers for Intelligent Robotics and Electronics
Electroactive liquid crystal elastomers (eLCEs) integrate molecular anisotropy with electrical functionality to enable programmable actuation and reconfigurable electronics. This review classifies eLCEs into robotic actuators and adaptive electronics, summarizes key actuation mechanisms, and highlights fabrication strategies that bridge materials to ...

The Acoustical Impedance at the Junction of Non-Coaxial Cylindrical Ducts
At low frequencies, only plane waves can continuously propagate along uniform ducts, but evanescent, non-planar waves arise from discontinuities in the duct cross-section. The effect of these evanescent waves can be considered as an acoustical impedance to the propagation of plane waves.

An efficient multi-field dynamic model for 3D wave propagation in saturated anisotropic porous media [PDF]
An efficient multi-field coupled dynamic model for saturated anisotropic porous materials is proposed here. The mathematical formulation of the dynamic deformation-diffusion problem is developed starting from the mixture theory and the definition of the ...

This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

A programmable 2048‐element circular ultrasound array combined with a compact acoustic lens produces a thin “sound sheet” over a large field of view, and records echoes with wide angular diversity across the ring aperture. Coherence‐enhanced beamforming converts full‐matrix data into high‐contrast tomographic slices, delivering near‐diffraction‐limited

Gecko like multi directional high power magneto mechano electric energy harvester (MME EH) for self powered, hundred meter scale LoRa communication. Inspired by the symmetric and flexible limb motion of geckos, the biomimetic harvester enables coordinated bending twisting responses to weak, low frequency (50/60 Hz) stray magnetic fields from power ...

We demonstrate the covalent bonds strategy to enhance the mechanical property of PBIA fiber by using interfacial MXene‐NH2 nanosheets. The MXene‐NH2 nanosheets with reactive amino sites that can serve as nucleating agents and chain anchors to enhance orientation, crystallinity and interchain interaction of PBIA fiber via strong interfacial amido ...
