Micromechanics of deformation non-coaxiality in granular materials

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2013
This paper presents results of multi-scale investigations on granular materials behavior. The statistics of material fabric and particle interactions are analyzed using the directional statistical theory. The findings are used to establish a simplified form of the Stress-Force-Fabric (SFF) relationship, and lead to the micromechanical explanation of ...

Non-coaxial deformation of elliptical particles

Tectonophysics, 1979
Abstract This short paper is an analysis of the behaviour of elliptical particles which deform homogeneously with their matrix during two types of deformation, 1. (a) simple shear and 2. (b) combined simple shear and pure shear. A deformation path diagram for simple shear is drawn. This diagram shows that, during simple shear, the rotation of

Non-Coaxial Plasticity Constitutive Modeling of Sands

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Classical coaxial plasticity constitutive models implicate an inevitable limitation that directions for principal stress and that for principal plastic strain increment are always coaxial. They are not capable of simulating non-coaxial phenomena during the rotation of principal stress axis.

An accuracy test method for non-coaxial DUT

2013 International Workshop on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Circuits and System Technology, 2013
For non-coaxial DUT, accurate test depends on sophisticated and expensive test fixture. In addition, real-time of measurement results is not good. In this paper, we made a simple and practical, excellent performance of the PCB test fixture and the corresponding calibration standards for a LNA operating from 2000MHz to 2800MHz.

Numerical aspects of non-coaxial model implementations

Computers and Geotechnics, 2010
Abstract This paper ascertains the reasons for the numerical problems when the yield vertex non-coaxial model is implemented in the finite element analysis to predict the behaviour of complicated geotechnical engineering problems. The numerical problem, reflected in the failure of convergence in the non-linear solutions in ABAQUS, is likely to happen

Study on the test system of non-coaxial laser detecting field

2015 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC) Proceedings, 2015
Non-coaxial laser detecting system detection performance was closely related to the detecting field, which was depended on the angle parameters of the system. In order to develop the detection performance and make full use of laser energy, the test system of non-coaxial laser detecting field was designed.

OAM Based Wireless Communications with Non-Coaxial UCA Transceiver

2019 IEEE 30th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2019
In the past decade, more and more researchers have concentrated on orbital-angular-momentum (OAM) based radio vortex wireless communications, which is expected to provide orthogonality among different OAM-modes. The uniform circular array (UCA) is considered as one promising antenna structure for OAM based radio vortex wireless communications. However,

Wavefront reconstruction of a non-coaxial diffraction model in a lens system

Applied Optics, 2018
To reconstruct a wavefront in a non-coaxial lens system, we propose a diffraction model using the Fresnel integral. Inclination angle is the newly included parameter in the mathematical formula describing beam propagation. It is determined through two ways in this paper, which are correlation operation and optical flow method.

On a class of non-coaxial plasticity models for granular soils

Proceedings of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2005
The non-coaxiality of the directions of principal stresses and principal plastic strain rates in granular soils under stress rotations has long been observed and recognized in soil tests using both simple shear and hollow cylinder apparatuses. A few constitutive theories have also been proposed in the literature to account for the effect of stress ...

Elliptical markers and non-coaxial strain increments

Tectonophysics, 1980
Abstract A succession of geologically observed, non-coaxial strain increments is applied homogeneously to two models: 1. (1) a suite of randomly oriented ellipses with constant axial ratio, 2. (2) a suite of ellipses with variable axial ratio and semi-planar long axis orientation.
