Non-Coherent Codes over the Grassmannian

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2007
We construct a new family of space-time codes suited for multiple-antenna non-coherent communications over Rayleigh flat fading channels. These codes use all the complex degrees of freedom of the system, i.e. (M times(1-M/T)) symbols per channel use, where T is the code length and M is the number of transmit antennas.

Wideband non-coherent MIMO capacity

Proceedings. International Symposium on Information Theory, 2005. ISIT 2005., 2005
We consider a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) wideband Rayleigh block fading channel, where the channel state is unknown to both the transmitter and the receiver. With only an average power constraint, we compute the capacity of this channel and consider its interaction with the coherence length, number of transmit and receive antennas and ...

Hierarchical coherent and non-coherent communication

2017 51st Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers, 2017
In this paper, we propose a method for simultaneous communication of coarse and detailed information over three types of layers: two nested layers to be communicated non-coherently using Grassmannian constellations and an additional layer to be communicated coherently using unitary constellations.

Non-coherent transport in carbon chains

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2011
The effect of electron-phonon (e-ph) interaction on the conductance of carbon chains is investigated by a non-equilibrium Green's function technique combined with a four-orbitals-per-atom tight-binding Hamiltonian. The optimized structure of the chain is found to be the semiconducting polyyne type (···-C≡C-C≡C-···).

Non-coherent cohesive texts

English Text Construction, 2021
AbstractThis article examines the function of cohesive devices (i.e., the linguistic tools that are usually used to link the various parts of the text) in Beckett’sWaiting for Godot. In Lucky’s soliloquy, certain cohesive devices are employed intensively so as to impede immediate understanding.

Adaptive non-coherent integration

2015 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarCon), 2015
Radar systems use a combination of coherent and non-coherent integration to optimize detection performance. However, the optimum balance between coherent and non-coherent integration is a function of both radar operation and the target's radar cross section statistics.

Reliability Analysis for a Real Non-Coherent System

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1987
This paper shows a real non-coherent system, calculates its unavailability, failure frequency, some measures for the element importance, and the optimum sequence for diagnosis and repair. The unique characteristic of its non-coherence is discussed.

The Degrees of Freedom of the Oversampled Non-Coherent Channel

2018 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW), 2018
The degrees of freedom of a class of discrete-time non-coherent channels with oversampling, termed the Oversampled Non-Coherent (ONC) channel, are shown. The ONC channel is obtained from the classic continuous-time AWGN channel by considering the scenario in which the channel output is also corrupted by phase noise (PN) and processed by a multi-sample ...

Non-coherent optical processing

Optics & Laser Technology, 1975
Abstract The basic principles of non-coherent optical processing are first described. These include the diffuse source, redundancy, and parallel processing. The techniques of temporal and spatial modulation to overcome the inevitable dc bias are next described. A final section on applications gives a wide but not exhaustive range of examples.

Complex deconvolution in non-coherent radar system

ICASSP '86. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
This paper is concerned with the estimation of the target magnitude response given the non-coherent receiver measurements and the complex information of the transmitted signal. This is a signal reconstruction problem from partial information which involves phase retrieval as well as deconvolution.
