Unsupervised Clustering-Based Non-Coherent Detection for Molecular Communications

IEEE Communications Letters, 2020
As an emerging communication paradigm, molecular communication is suitable for exchanging information between nano-machines in a fluid medium (e.g., in vivo), utilizing molecules as a major carrier. Subject to the inherent long tail characteristic of channel response and the difficulties in obtaining Channel State Information (CSI), conventional ...

Research of Non-coherent Detection in Jamming Environment

IET International Radar Conference 2013, 2013
Target detection and tracking in jamming environment is the main problem of airborne radar, while frequency agility is one of the effective measures for radar anti-interference. Received echoes of radar can be divided into the interfered part and the un-interfered part in the state of frequency agility.

Diversity Performance of a Practical Non-Coherent Detect-and-Forward Receiver

IEEE GLOBECOM 2008 - 2008 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2008
We propose a non-coherent receiver for the fixed detect-and-forward relay channel and derive a closed-form tight upper bound on its bit error probability in Rayleigh fading channels. Using this upper bound, we show that the receiver achieves nearly full, second-order diversity, and the gap from full diversity is quantified.

Development of non-coherent CFAR detection processes in Weibull background

Digital Signal Processing, 2018
Abstract The Weibull distribution is a model for land and sea based radar backscattering, and as such there is continued interest in the development of non-coherent detection processes under such a clutter model assumption. The focus here is on the derivation of such detectors which achieve the constant false alarm rate property in Weibull background.

Generalized non-coherent detection.

2009
The objective of this thesis is to introduce new power efficient non-coherent receiver structures for linear (Quadrature Amplitude Modulated and Phase Shift Keyed) as well as Continuous Phase Modulated signals. A generalized non-coherent detection theory, addressing single or multi-amplitude/phase signals as well as operation in time dispersive ...

Non-Coherent Symbol Detection with TOA Estimation for Nanocommunication Networks

2019 IEEE 89th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2019-Spring), 2019
With the latest developments in nanotechnology, nano-electronics, and nano-photonics, Wireless Nanosensor Networks (WNSNs) would soon become a reality. This paper presents a synchronization and symbol detection scheme for the pulse-based communications in the Terahertz (THz) Band (0.1 THz - 10 THz).

Ring-coupled chaotic generator for coherent and non-coherent detection

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2013
Abstract This paper deals with chaotic encryption and observer synthesis for coherent detection using a new ring-coupled map firstly introduced by Lozi. The specificity of the switched map under investigation is that it exhibits excellent properties for chaotic encryption, but has no standard solution for the observer design.

Non-Coherent Multiple-Symbol Detection for Diffusive Molecular Communications

Proceedings of the 3rd ACM International Conference on Nanoscale Computing and Communication, 2016
Most of the available works on molecular communication (MC) assume that the channel state information (CSI) is perfectly known at the receiver for data detection. In contrast, in this paper, we study non-coherent multiple-symbol detection schemes which do not require knowledge of the CSI.

Dynamic race detection for non-coherent accelerators

2020
Modern System-on-Chip (SoC) designs are increasingly complex and heterogeneous, featuring specialized hardware accelerators and processor cores that access shared memory. Non-coherent accelerators are one common memory coherence model. The advantage of non-coherence in accelerators is that it cut costs on extra hardware that would have been used for ...

Variance detection for non-coherent impulse radio UWB receivers

2014 International Conference on Computing, Networking and Communications (ICNC), 2014
In this paper, a novel detection algorithm based on variance detection (VD) is proposed for non-coherent impulse radio (IR) ultra-wideband (UWB) receivers. In the VD-based detection algorithm, after the received IR UWB signals are squared, their variance instead of their mean is measure to recover information bits.
