Non-coherent sequence detection of QAM

Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2002
We present a new non-coherent sequence detection algorithm for quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) transmitted over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels.

Non-Coherent Pulse Detection with a Large Predetection Bandwidth

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1978
For a non-coherent detection circuit with a broad-band pre-detection filter and narrow-band post-detection-filter, equations are obtained for the probability of detection of a pulsed sinusoidal signal embedded in white noise. The equations can be used to calculate the detection probability directly from envelope form, noise power at the input of the ...

Revisiting Non-Coherent Detection in Doubly Selective Multipath

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2013
We revisit the problem of non-coherent signal detection in multipath scattering by exploring the effect of bandwidth and signaling duration on detection performance in doubly selective rich and sparse multipath. We begin with a general sampled representation of multipath channels that allows us to quantify the independent degrees of freedom (DoF) in ...

Non-coherent sequence detection of M-ary PSK

Proceedings of ICC'97 - International Conference on Communications, 2002
We present new non-coherent sequence detection algorithms for M-ary phase shift keying (M-PSK) signals transmitted over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels. We first consider the problem of optimal sequence detection in the presence of an unknown channel phase modeled as stochastic with uniform distribution and constant during the entire ...

Module-phase codes with non-coherent detection

Proceedings of ICC '93 - IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2002
Coded M-PSK schemes with non-coherent detection are considered. A class of block codes called model phase codes is presented. The algebraic framework used for constructing these codes relies on elements from module theory, which is discussed together with a method for constructing such codes for non-coherent detection.

Space-Time Continuous Phase Modulation for Non-Coherent Detection

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2008
The combination of space-time (ST) coding and continuous-phase modulation (CPM) is attractive for power- efficient transmission over fading channels. In this paper, we propose a diagonal block-based ST-CPM (DBST-CPM) scheme, which in addition to its high power efficiency facilitates noncoherent detection at the receiver.

Research of Non-coherent Detection in Jamming Environment

IET International Radar Conference 2013, 2013
Target detection and tracking in jamming environment is the main problem of airborne radar, while frequency agility is one of the effective measures for radar anti-interference. Received echoes of radar can be divided into the interfered part and the un-interfered part in the state of frequency agility.

Diversity Performance of a Practical Non-Coherent Detect-and-Forward Receiver

IEEE GLOBECOM 2008 - 2008 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2008
We propose a non-coherent receiver for the fixed detect-and-forward relay channel and derive a closed-form tight upper bound on its bit error probability in Rayleigh fading channels. Using this upper bound, we show that the receiver achieves nearly full, second-order diversity, and the gap from full diversity is quantified.

Non-Coherent Symbol Detection with TOA Estimation for Nanocommunication Networks

2019 IEEE 89th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2019-Spring), 2019
With the latest developments in nanotechnology, nano-electronics, and nano-photonics, Wireless Nanosensor Networks (WNSNs) would soon become a reality. This paper presents a synchronization and symbol detection scheme for the pulse-based communications in the Terahertz (THz) Band (0.1 THz - 10 THz).

Generalized non-coherent detection.

2009
The objective of this thesis is to introduce new power efficient non-coherent receiver structures for linear (Quadrature Amplitude Modulated and Phase Shift Keyed) as well as Continuous Phase Modulated signals. A generalized non-coherent detection theory, addressing single or multi-amplitude/phase signals as well as operation in time dispersive ...
