Non-Coherent Multi-User Detection Based on Expectation Propagation [PDF]

open access: yes2019 53rd Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers, 2019
In this paper, we propose a novel soft-output multi-user detector for non-coherent multiple access with Grassmannian signaling under Rayleigh block fading. Our detector is based on expectation propagation (EP) approximate inference and has polynomial complexity in the number of users. A simplified version of this scheme coincides with a scheme based on

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Phase tracking for sub-shot-noise-limited receivers

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Nonconventional receivers for phase-coherent states based on non-Gaussian measurements such as photon counting surpass the sensitivity limits of shot-noise-limited coherent receivers, the quantum noise limit (QNL). These non-Gaussian receivers can have a

Witnessing effective entanglement over a 2km fiber channel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present a fiber-based continuous-variable quantum key distribution system. In the scheme, a quantum signal of two non-orthogonal weak optical coherent states is sent through a fiber-based quantum channel. The receiver simultaneously measures conjugate

PEP analysis of SDP-based non-coherent signal detection [PDF]

open access: yes2007 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2007
In multi-antenna communication systems, channel information is often not known at the receiver. To fully exploit the bandwidth resources of the system and ensure the practical feasibility of the receiver, the channel parameters are often estimated and then employed in the design of signal detection algorithms. However, sometimes communication can occur

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

An Enhanced Non-Coherent Pre-Filter Design for Tracking Error Estimation in GNSS Receivers

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Tracking error estimation is of great importance in global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers. Any inaccurate estimation for tracking error will decrease the signal tracking ability of signal tracking loops and the accuracies of position fixing,

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Vibrational coherence in electron spin resonance in nanoscale oscillators

open access: yes, 2008
We study a scheme for electrical detection, using electron spin resonance, of coherent vibrations in a molecular single electron level trapped near a conduction channel.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
