Influence of Capacitive Coupling on High-Fidelity Non-Contact ECG Measurement

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2020
Non-contact electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement is an advanced sensing technique that uses capacitive electrodes to detect cardiac signals through non-conductive fabrics.

NON-CONTACT TONOMETRY BY ASSISTANTS

Optometry and Vision Science, 1975
The ability of assistants to screen for elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) with the non-contact tonometer was evaluated. They had ten minutes of instruction with the instrument prior to the study. The estimates by the assistants correlated highly with those of the optometrists. The patients' responses were favorable. It follows from this study that an

Non-contact, fibrous cellulose acetate/aluminum flexible electronic-sensor for humidity detecting

, 2020
The development of non-contact flexible electronic-sensor with high sensitivity and stable connection is urgently needed for the advanced human-machine interactions. Here, with the aid of theoretical simulation, a novel cellulose acetate/aluminum (CA/Al)

A Non-Contact Vital Signs Monitor

Critical Reviews™ in Biomedical Engineering, 2000
The expansion and contraction of the lungs and heart result in movement of the chest wall that can be detected and monitored to determine respiration and heart rate. A prototype non-contact Vital Signs Monitor (VSM) has been developed which uses very low power, high frequency Doppler radar to detect these motions.

Non-Contact Stiffness Imager

IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2004. Proceedings. ICRA '04. 2004, 2004
This paper proposes a Non-Contact Stiffness Imager that can enhance the definition of a stiff point by imparting a fluid force to the environment. The force is applied to the environment at a local point and displacement of the environment is measured in the surrounding area.

Overdamped non-contact rectifiers

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2018
We study the dynamics of overdamped systems in a symmetric periodic potential against an external load. Using numerical and analytical methods, we show that a symmetric driving signal cannot rectify these systems while an asymmetric one can rectify them, causing its unidirectional rotation.

Non-contact temperature measurement

Advances in Space Research, 1991
Three methods for noncontact temperature measurement are presented. Ideal gas thermometry is realized by using laser-induced fluorescence to measure the concentration of mercury atoms in a Hg-Ar mixture in the vicinity of hot specimens. Emission polarimetry is investigated by measuring the spatially resolved intensities of polarized light from a hot ...

Non-Contact Aerial Interfaces

2022 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Pacific Rim (CLEO-PR), 2022
Non-contact interfaces are expected to be immune to infectious diseases. Aerial display with 3D sensing enables us directly to handle information without physical touch. This paper reviews recent developments and prospects of aerial display.

Non contact ultrasound stethoscope

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2014
Heartbeat and respiration are very important vital signs that indicate health and psychological states of a person. Recent technologies allow to detect both physical parameters on a human subject by using different techniques with and without contact. Noncontact systems often use electromagnetic waves for contactless measurement but approaches based on

Non contact elastographic techniques

2016 Global Medical Engineering Physics Exchanges/Pan American Health Care Exchanges (GMEPE/PAHCE), 2016
This work presents a review of elastographic techniques commonly used to detect stiffness changes in biological tissues. These changes are frequently related with diseases like cancer. Upon implementing the most widely used techniques like static elastography, we have developed a non-contact technique based on Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse (ARFI ...
