Non-contact bias voltage measurement using the electro-optic probing technique

Measurement Science and Technology, 2008
The traditional non-contact electro-optic (EO) probing technique is further extended to measure quasi-dc bias voltages. We propose a special external LiTaO3 probe equipped with a grounded side-electrode (GSE) and a power supply modulation (PSM) method.

A Novel Non-contact Capacitive Probe for Common-Mode Voltage Measurement

IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2007
This paper describes a capacitive voltage probe (CVP) that can measure a common-mode voltage on a cable without touching its conductor. This CVP has two coaxial electrodes: the inner electrode works as a voltage pickup and the outer one shields the inner electrode. These electrodes separate into two parts for clamping to the cable.

Study of Non-Contact and Non-Ground Voltage Signal Measurement System in Medium Voltage

IEEE Latin America Transactions, 2018
The measurement of current and voltage (as well as the indexes derived from them) in the electricity distribution network becomes more and more necessary in the present day. The power concessionaires seek to distribute to their customers, reliability and stability in the supply of this energy with admissible levels of quality established by the ...

An Optimization-based Non-contact Transient Voltage Measurement Method by Integrated Optical Electric Field Sensor

2024 4th International Conference on Smart Grid and Energy Internet (SGEI)
Transient overvoltage in power systems, caused by lightning or switching, are a critical reliability constraint. Traditional contact measurement methods have limitations, prompting the development of non-contact measurement technologies.

Non-contact transient high-voltage measurement with self-integrating D-dot probe

International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2015
Online transformer monitoring and protective relaying require voltage sensors with fast response and high precision. Traditional devices, such as resistive and capacitive dividers, have disadvantages in measuring transient voltage, e.g., oscillation, narrow bandwidth, and large size.

Non-contact measurement of harmonic voltage based on leakage current and impedance transfer in capacitive devices

IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Application
In order to solve the problems of low precision and difficult installation of grid broadband voltage measurement, this paper proposes a non-contact measurement method of broadband voltage reconstruction by leakage current.
