Modeling saturated porous media with elasto-plastic behavior and non-Darcy flow law considering different permeability coefficients

In analysis of saturated porous media under earthquake loading, the seepage velocity may probably be sufficiently high, that viscous drag forces cannot follow from Darcy seepage law. In this situation, the flow law governing the porous media is non-Darcy.

ABSTRACT The larvae of the mayfly Ephoron shigae (Takahashi, 1924) (Ephemeroptera: Polymitarcyidae) inhabit distinctive U‐shaped burrows in river and lake sediments, yet their ecology remains poorly documented. Using newly developed mechatronic technology, we obtained continuous observations that revealed new aspects of larval behavior.

Hydrogen Permeability of Tubular Polymer Membranes for Biological Methanation Membrane Reactors

A reproducible method for permeability measurements of tubular polymer membranes is developed and combined with a comprehensive review of hydrogen permeability data. Based on this analysis, a suitable tubular polymer membrane is identified for application in biological methanation within membrane reactors.
