Multiplexed SQUID array for non-destructive evaluation of aircraft structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
SQUID sensors offer a significant advantage for eddy-current (EC) testing of aircraft components for material flaws hidden deeply in the tested structure. However, the requirement to take maps of the magnetic field, usually by meander-shaped scans, leads

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Bridge inspection practices using non-destructive testing methods

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2015
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods have been developed and employed as a means of rapid and effective structural inspection. Despite the various kinds of NDT methods developed for bridge inspection, not much study has been performed on their usage and

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

A Robust Approach to Optimal Matched Filter Design in Ultrasonic Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The matched filter was demonstrated to be a powerful yet efficient technique to enhance defect detection and imaging in ultrasonic non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of coarse grain materials, provided that the filter was properly designed and optimized ...

ATG4B is required for mTORC1‐mediated anabolic activity and is associated with clinical outcomes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

Non-destructive measurements for evaluation of fruit quality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Different quality attributes are critical for consumer acceptability of fruits. So the fruit producers and distributors are particularly interested in the measurements of these criteria.

Diabetes‐induced vascular calcification is associated with low pyrophosphate and its oral supplementation prevents calcification in diabetic mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Induction of diabetes in three different mouse strains uniformly resulted in an increase in TNAP activity and a reduction in pyrophosphate (PPi) in the circulation. Inhibition of TNAP restored plasma PPi. Diabetes‐induced calcification in the media layer of the aorta was detected only in the Abcc6−/− strain, which is predisposed to ectopic ...
