Application of non-destructive analysis methods in TENMAK-PAF

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2023
Development of non-destructive analysis systems at the R&D beamline of the Proton Accelerator Facility of the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Minerals Research Agency (TENMAK-PAF) is described in this work. The proton beam from the cyclotron with energy between 15-30 MeV and current between 0.1 μA-1.2 mA is modified with several components and subsystems ...

An improved non-destructive method of potassium determination

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2013
The simplest non-destructive method of potassium determination is to co-relate the fixed abundance of naturally occurring (40)K with the total amount of potassium. Earlier this relationship was applied by measuring the β(-) activity of (40)K in a sample by Geiger counter.

A simple imaging method for non-destructive evaluation

2010 URSI International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory, 2010
This paper presents an inverse scattering method for imaging defects embedded into known structures based on a modified version of the linear sampling method. The main features of the proposed approach are the computational effectiveness paired with a non-approximated modeling. As such, the method is able to deliver reliable results almost in real time.

Interval Methods in Non-Destructive Testing of Material Structures

Reliable Computing, 2001
A simple interval reasoning is applied to the problem of checking structural integrity of material structures. The basic assumption is that in the presence of faults a linear dependence turns into a nonlinear one, so that the problem boils down to checking linear dependence of measured quantities (afflicted with errors), which is achieved by using a ...

Non-destructive method of honey hunting

Bee World, 2005
Honey hunting is the general term given to the collection of honey from wild honey bee colonies. Traditional honey hunting is an important element in the life of a number of groups including the Rajis in Nepal, and Kurumbas in south India.4,6 In the Hindu Kush Himalayan region more than 50% of total honey yield is collected mainly by honey hunters from

Methods of Non-Destructive Assessment of Timber

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015
As a preparation for further research of timber this paper was made and the purpose of this paper is to summarize and describe the currently used non-destructive assessment methods of a timber structures used in modern civil engineering. The principle of each method is shortly introduced and the reader is familiarized with tools necessary for the ...

Biomarkers: Non-destructive Method for Predicting Meat Tenderization

Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, 2015
Meat tenderness is the primary and most important quality attribute for the consumers worldwide. Tenderness is the process of breakdown of collagen tissue in meat to make it palatable. The earlier methods of tenderness evaluation like taste panels and shear force methods are destructive, time consuming and ill suited as they requires removing a piece ...

Non-destructive assessment of parchment deterioration by optical methods

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2007
A non-destructive and non-invasive method for quantitative characterization of parchment deterioration, based on spectral measurements, is proposed. Deterioration due to both natural aging (ancient parchments) and artificial aging (achieved by means of controlled UV irradiation and temperature treatment) was investigated.

Non-destructive methods of material identification

Non-Destructive Testing, 1970
Abstract Current non-destructive methods of material identification and typical applications are briefly surveyed. The general approach and factors to be considered when establishing a suitable test method are discussed with particular reference to the compilation and evaluation of the test data.

The impedance method of non-destructive inspection

NDT International, 1984
Abstract The physical basis of the impedence method of non-destructive testing has been investigated. A theoretical study has been backed up by impedance measurements on structures with deliberately introduced disbonds. It has been shown that defects such as disbonds and delaminations may be modelled as a spring beneath which is the undamaged ...
