PC based Eddy Current non-destructive testing (NDT) system
2015 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC) Proceedings, 2015A cost effective PC based Eddy Current Testing System is designed and developed to detect surface cracks in non-magnetic metals. The developed system is composed of Constant Current AC Source for excitation of the probe; and demodulation circuitry for acquisition of the signal from the crack.

Ultrasonic spectroscopy in non-destructive testing (NDT) of materials
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2012Monitoring the alternations of the frequency spectrum of transmitted and received signal is essential in the use of ultrasonic spectroscopy for NDT. The comparison of the spectra of the both signals provides much more information than time-amplitude analysis of the signal reflected off a defect.

Applications of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) in Vehicle Forgery Examinations
Journal of Forensic Sciences, 1994Abstract Some non-destructive testing methods (NDT) used in industry and adapted for forensic use were reviewed. These methods were X-ray radiography, eddy current thickness measuring, and magnetic thickness measuring. Examples of applications of these methods in vehicle forgery examinations are illustrated.

Three-dimensional non-destructive testing (NDT) in the infrared spectrum
SPIE Proceedings, 2015Three-dimensional (3D) vision scanning for metrology and inspection applications is an area that knows an increasing interest in the industry. This interest is driven by the recent advances in 3D technologies, permitting to attain high precision measurements at an affordable cost. 3D vision allows for the modelling and inspection of the visible surface

Inspection of Non-Metallic Pipes Using Microwave Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
2018 IEEE International RF and Microwave Conference (RFM), 2018Non-metallic components are increasingly finding application in numerous industries including oil and gas, energy, transportation, and construction. The inherent advantages of these components, which include corrosion resistance, light weight and high strength-to-weight ratio have attracted several industries to employ non-metallic components. However,

Human factors in non-destructive testing (NDT): risks and challenges of mechanised NDT
2015Non-destructive testing (NDT) is regarded as one of the key elements in ensuring quality of engineering systems and their safe use. A failure of NDT to detect critical defects in safety-relevant components, such as those in the nuclear industry, may lead to catastrophic consequences for the environment and the people.

Non-destructive Testing (NDT) 4.0
2022Above-ground Storage Tanks (ASTs) corrode over time, leading to possible leakage of contents and resulting in severe economic losses and pollution. To avoid these consequences, inspection and repair activities are performed periodically according to international regulations.

Cryogenic Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and Material Treatment Cryogenic Transition Detection
Heat Treating Conference, 2013Abstract The ability to identify and quantify changes in the microstructure of metal alloys is valuable in determining fatigue life and dependability of metal cutting, shaping, and heat treated materials used in manufacturing applications.
