Non-equilibrium Traffic Models
2013This chapter deals with the PW model and the AR model, that represent the first two non-equilibrium models for vehicular traffic. © 2013 Springer International Publishing Switzerland.

Non-equilibrium open systems and non-equilibrium thermo field dynamics
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1989Abstract Within the formalism of non-equilibrium thermo field dynamics (NETFD), a derivation of basic equations is given in their most general and suitable forms to take into account the coarse graining in the kinetic region and in the fluid mechanical region.

Non-Equilibrium Thermodynamics
1994After having devoted five chapters of this book to the discussion of equilibrium thermodynamics and conservative dynamic phenomena, it is now high time that we entered into the realm of irreversible transport processes. As mentioned in chapter 1, most of the physical systems which engineers wish to model exhibit dissipative phenomena.

Sibani and co-workers have proposed a model of the extinction process, which they call the "reset model" (Sibani et al. 1995,1998), which differs from those discussed in the preceding chapters in a fundamental way; it allows for, and indeed relies upon, nonstationarity in the extinction process.

In this thesis, we investigate the collective behavior of colloidal suspensions at the mesoscale level in equilibrium as well as in non-equilibrium. Related to recent experiments, we focus in the first part of the thesis on the transport behavior of suspensions of purely repulsive "soft" particles in narrow, spatially modulated channels.
