Effect of Local Occurrence of Non-Equilibrium Condensation on Transonic Flow Field

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2013
The transonic flow over an airfoil is characterized by a shock wave standing on the suction surface. When non-equilibrium condensation occurs in a supersonic flow field, the flow is affected by latent heat released by it.

Non-equilibrium spontaneous condensation in transonic steam flow

International Journal of Thermal Sciences, 2013
Abstract Experimental and numerical investigations of non-equilibrium spontaneous condensation in transonic steam flow were carried out in low pressure steam turbine cascade to study the effect of exit pressure variation on two phase flow of saturated vapor and fine water droplet.

Non-Equilibrium Evolution of Disoriented Chiral Condensates

1994
The nonequilibrium time evolution of the hot hadronic plasma produced in a relativistic heavy ion collision is studied in the O(N) linear sigma model to leading order in the large N expansion. The chiral phase transition to the broken symmetry phase as the plasma expands and cools is described by the evolution of the order parameter .

A numerical method for thermally non-equilibrium condensing flow in a double-pipe condenser

Applied Thermal Engineering, 1997
This paper presents a numerical method to analyze the two-phase condensing flow in a double-pipe condenser. A semi-implicit finite-difference scheme is used to solve the governing equations together with the constitutive relations. The calculated results for local wall heat flux and overall pressure drop agree well with experimental data.

Notes to modelling of non-equilibrium condensation of steam in nozzles

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2018
The comparison of numerous simulations of the non-equilibrium condensation in nozzles in the frame of recently finished “International Wet Steam Modelling Project” [1] showed a certain spread of results caused not only by used condensation models, but most probably by numerical methods as well.

Chapter 8. Non-equilibrium Thermodynamics for Evaporation and Condensation

2015
Non-equilibrium thermodynamics gives dynamic boundary conditions for transport of heat and mass into and through surfaces far from reversible conditions. Conversions between thermal, mechanical and chemical energy are described through force–flux relations.
