Engineering model for rocket exhaust plumes verified by CFD results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
An engineering model (EM) is under development that describes the propagation of a rocket exhaust plume after the nozzle exit. The aim of this EM is to allow a fast analysis of the structure of the plume and the exhaust species within the plume.

Analysis of the Possibilities of Reduction of Exhaust Emissions from a Farm Tractor by Retrofitting Exhaust Aftertreatment

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
The paper evaluates particulate matter emissions and exhaust gas components from retrofitted engines of non-road vehicles measured under actual operating conditions. The content is divided into three main parts: formation of guidelines, production of the

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A review of non-exhaust emissions on pavement area: Sources, compositions, evaluation and mitigation

open access: yesJournal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering (English ed. Online)
Particulate matter (PM) in outdoor air pollution is one of the most critical factors that cause serious health problems and even deaths. One significant source of these particles are non-exhaust emissions, which refer to pollutants that come from sources,

Bohm criterion and plasma particle/power exhaust to and recycling at the wall

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2017
The plasma particle and power exhaust to the divertor surface drives both particle and power recycling at the surface, which in return constrains the plasma density and temperature at the target and their profile further upstream. Both particle and power

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Analysis of vehicle-related non-exhaust PM10 and emerging pollutants in Beijing with machine-learning

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
With the growth of electric vehicles, non-exhaust PM10 is becoming the dominant contributor to vehicle-related particulate pollution and a source of emerging pollutants. This study evaluated four machine-learning algorithms and selected Random Forest (RF)

An Analysis of Exhaust Emission of the Internal Combustion Engine Treated by the Non-Thermal Plasma

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Industries’ air pollution causes serious challenges to modern society, among them exhaust gases from internal combustion engines, which are currently one of the main sources.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
