We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Investigation of the Influence of Chamfer Treatment on the Non-Gaussian Character of Wind Pressure Distributions on Square-section Columns [PDF]
Chamfering the corners of a square cylinder is a recognized technique for flow control, yet its systematic impact on the non-Gaussian statistics of surface pressure fluctuations remains inadequately quantified.

Feature normalization based on non-extensive statistics for speech recognition
Highlights? We propose a feature normalization method for robust speech recognition. ? It operates in a spectral domain intermediate between log and linear. ? We name our method q-logarithmic Spectral Mean Normalization (q-LSMN). ? It is based on non-extensive statistics in which additivity does not hold. ?

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Multifractal Dimensional Dependence Assessment Based on Tsallis Mutual Information
Entropy-based tools are commonly used to describe the dynamics of complex systems. In the last few decades, non-extensive statistics, based on Tsallis entropy, and multifractal techniques have shown to be useful to characterize long-range interaction and

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Predicting gross wages of non-employed persons in Croatia
We present the findings of a study aimed at building a model for predicting wages of non-employed persons in Croatia. The predictions will be used in the calculation of marginal effective tax rate at the extensive margin and in labour supply modelling ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Thermodynamical limit in non-extensive and Renyi statistics
Previous results on Renyi and Wang's formalism of the Tsallis thermostatics are founded by using an extensive variable z connected to the entropic parameter q. It is shown that in the thermodynamical limit both the Tsallis and Renyi entropies are extensive functions of state and the temperature of the system is intensive.
