Non-classical heat conduction and the associated thermal stress analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Classical thermoelastic analysis within the framework of classical elasticity and Fourier’s heat conduction cannot meet the increasing demand with the rapid development of new technologies and new materials.

Natural Bone‐Derived Ceramic Scaffolds Functionalized with Chitosan‐Gold, Chitosan‐Magnesium, and Chitosan‐Zinc for Enhanced Antibacterial Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports the development of antibacterial ceramic scaffolds derived from natural bovine bone. The bones were processed through sequential boiling and hydrogen peroxide treatment to remove organic matter, producing porous, mineral‐rich scaffolds.

Stability and wave motion problems in continuous media with second sound [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this thesis we investigate thermal convection and wave motion in models of second sound such as the Cattaneo model, Green and Laws model, Batra model, and Green and Naghdi model. For the Green and Laws and Batra models we also investigate questions of

Natural convection flow from an isothermal horizontal cylinder in presence of heat generation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Natural convection laminar boundary layer flow from a horizontal circular cylinder with a uniform surface temperature at presence of heat generation has been investigated. The governing boundary layer equations are transformed into a non-dimensional form

Microstructure Reconstruction in Battery Electrodes Using Machine Learning Based on Low‐Voltage Focused Ion Beam–Scanning Electron Microscopy Tomography Images

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Transient heat conduction in multiwall carbon nanotubes

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
In this paper, theoretical investigation is performed on two-dimensional transient heat conduction in multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) by using a continuum model. Temperature, size and direction dependencies of thermal properties are considered.

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Investigation of conduction to keyhole mode transition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
There are two very distinct welding modes in laser welding, keyhole and conduction mode. The characteristics of keyhole laser welding; mainly high penetration, high productivity and high aspect ratio have led the industry to focus more on this mode.

Nonlinear analysis of a non-Fourier heat conduction problem in a living tissue heated by laser source [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The effect of laser, as a heat source, on a one-dimensional finite living tissue was studied in this paper. The dual phase lagging (DPL) non-Fourier heat conduction model was used for thermal analysis.

Corrective and new research frontier of dual-phase -lag non-fourier heat conduction in functionally graded cylindrical materials with bi-directional property variations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermofluids
This study presents a novel and corrective analysis of Dual-Phase-Lag (DPL) non-fourier heat conduction in functionally graded cylindrical materials with bi-directional property variations.
