Comparison of fourier and non-fourier heat transfer in nanoscale semiconductor structures

2014 Semiconductor Thermal Measurement and Management Symposium (SEMI-THERM), 2014
This paper is devoted to the demonstration of fundamental differences between the Fourier and non-Fourier heat transfer mechanisms in nanoscale silicon structures. One-dimensional parabolic and hyperbolic heat equation is solved for a simple test structure. Then, the obtained solutions in frequency and time domains are compared.

Numerical simulation of non-Fourier effects in combined heat transfer

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2010
The non-Fourier effects on transient and steady temperature distribution in combined heat transfer are studied. The processes of coupled conduction and radiation heat transfer in grey, absorbing, emitting, scattering, one-dimensional medium with black boundary surfaces are analysed numerically.

Heat Transfer Enhancement Feature of the Non-Fourier Cattaneo–Christov Heat Flux Model

Journal of Heat Transfer, 2021
Abstract Cattaneo–Christov heat flux model was proposed to remedy the weakness of the traditional Fourier heat flux model to maintain the finite travel time of heat. The literature is replete with numerical studies to understand the heat transfer enhancement property.

Analysis of Non-Fourier Conduction-Radiation Heat Transfer in a Cylindrical Enclosure

Numerical Heat Transfer, Part A: Applications, 2010
This article deals with the analysis of non-Fourier conduction and radiation heat transfer in a participating medium contained between 1-D concentric cylinders. The conducting-radiating medium is radiatively absorbing, emitting, and scattering. The non-Fourier effect is analyzed by suddenly perturbing the temperatures of the concentric cylinders.

High precision simulation and analysis of non-Fourier heat transfer during laser processing

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2021
Abstract With the rapid development of ultrashort-pulse laser heating and nanomaterials in science and engineering, the research on non-Fourier models to predict the anomalous heat conduction has attracted more and more attention. Among the existing non-Fourier models, the dual-phase-lag model can provide the best performance and it is more suitable ...

An enhanced explicit technique for the solution of non-Fourier heat transfer problems

Advances in Engineering Software, 2018
Abstract In this work, an enhanced explicit technique is proposed to analyze hyperbolic heat conduction models. As usual, the explicit approach allows the solution of the problem to be carried out without dealing with any system of equations, featuring a very efficient methodology.

Rarefaction criterion and non-Fourier heat transfer in hypersonic rarefied flows

Physics of Fluids, 2010
As a hypersonic flow transits from continuous to more and more rarefied, both the bow shock wave and the boundary layer over a leading edge will gradually become thickening, touching, and interlacing with each other, characterizing the evolution of the flow field structure.

The Analysis of Non-Fourier Heat Transfer Mechanism on Thermal Conductivity for Nanofluids

ASME/JSME 2007 Thermal Engineering Heat Transfer Summer Conference, Volume 1, 2007
The paper features the mathematical model representing the analytical calculation of thermal conductivity for nanofluids. The mathematical model was developed on the basis of statistical nano-mechanics. We have made the detailed analysis of the influence of temperature dependence on thermal conductivity for nanofluids.

Meshless analysis of casting process considering non-Fourier heat transfer

2016
Casting is considered as a major manufacturing process. Thermal analysis of a solidifying medium is of great importance for appropriate design of casting processes. The conventional governing equation of a solidifying medium is based on the Fourier heat conduction law, which does not account for the phase-lag between the heat flux and the temperature ...
