Operational Approach and Solutions of Hyperbolic Heat Conduction Equations

open access: yesAxioms, 2016
We studied physical problems related to heat transport and the corresponding differential equations, which describe a wider range of physical processes. The operational method was employed to construct particular solutions for them.

A new fractional derivative involving the normalized sinc function without singular kernel

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, a new fractional derivative involving the normalized sinc function without singular kernel is proposed. The Laplace transform is used to find the analytical solution of the anomalous heat-diffusion problems. The comparative results between

Non-Fourier Heat Transfer with Phonons and Electrons in a Circular Thin Layer Surrounding a Hot Nanodevice [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2015
A nonlocal model for heat transfer with phonons and electrons is applied to infer the steady-state radial temperature profile in a circular layer surrounding an inner hot component. Such a profile, following by the numerical solution of the heat equation, predicts that the temperature behaves in an anomalous way, since for radial distances from the ...

Fourier Heat Conduction as a phenomenon described within the scope of the Second Law

open access: yes, 2014
The historical development of the Carnot cycle necessitated the construction of isothermal and adiabatic pathways within the cycle that were also mechanically "reversible" which lead eventually to the Kelvin-Clausius development of the entropy function ...

3D‐Printed Sulfur‐Derived Polymers With Controlled Architectures for Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rheology‐guided formulation design for direct ink writing enables the fabrication of 3D sulfur copolymer cathodes with controlled architectures for lithium‐sulfur batteries. The printed electrodes exhibit multiscale porosity and high sulfur utilization, delivering enhanced electrochemical performance compared to conventional cast electrodes.

Optimized Schwarz waveform relaxation for heterogeneous Cattaneo-Vernotte non-Fourier heat transfer

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
The non-Fourier heat transfer in heterogeneous media is crucial for material science and biomedical engineering. The optimized Schwarz waveform relaxation (OSWR) method is an efficient approach for solving such problems due to its divide-and-conquer strategy.

In Situ Study of Resistive Switching in a Nitride‐Based Memristive Device

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ TEM biasing experiment demonstrates the volatile I‐V characteristic of MIM lamella device. In situ STEM‐EELS Ti L2/L3 ratio maps provide direct evidence of the oxygen vacancies migrations under positive/negative electrical bias, which is critical for revealing the RS mechanism for the MIM lamella device.
