Characteristic function estimation of non-Gaussian Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes. [PDF]
Continuous non-Gaussian stationary processes of the OU-type are becoming increasingly popular given their flexibility in modelling stylized features of financial series such as asymmetry, heavy tails and jumps.

Assessment of the GPC Control Quality Using Non–Gaussian Statistical Measures
This paper presents an alternative approach to the task of control performance assessment. Various statistical measures based on Gaussian and non-Gaussian distribution functions are evaluated.

Non-Gaussian Ensemble Optimization
AbstractEnsemble-based optimization (EnOpt), commonly used in reservoir management, can be seen as a special case of a natural evolution algorithm. Stein’s lemma gives a new interpretation of EnOpt. This interpretation enables us to study EnOpt in the context of general mutation distributions.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Model-based clustering of non-Gaussian panel data [PDF]
In this paper we propose a model-based method to cluster units within a panel. The underlying model is autoregressive and non-Gaussian, allowing for both skewness and fat tails, and the units are clustered according to their dynamic behaviour and ...

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Knowledge‐based atomistic workflows are presented for mechanical and thermodynamic properties. By coupling modular simulations with ontology‐aligned metadata and provenance, Fe case studies on elastic behavior, defects, thermal properties, and Hall–Petch strengthening reveal how FAIR, queryable, and reusable simulation data can be generated. Mechanical

Impact of the non-Gaussian measurement noise on the performance of state-of-the-art state estimators for distribution systems [PDF]
This paper aims to investigate the impact of non-Gaussian measurement noise on state estimation (SE) results in distribution systems. To this end, the measurement noise is assumed to be distributed according to Gaussian or one of the following ...
