Non-Gaussian Diffusion Near Surfaces
We study the diffusion of particles confined close to a single wall and in double-wall planar channel geometries where the local diffusivities depend on the distance to the boundaries. Displacement parallel to the walls is Brownian as characterized by its variance, but it is non-Gaussian having a non-zero fourth cumulant.

Non-Gaussian analysis of diffusion weighted imaging in head and neck at 3T: a pilot study in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. [PDF]
PURPOSE:To technically investigate the non-Gaussian diffusion of head and neck diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) at 3 Tesla and compare advanced non-Gaussian diffusion models, including diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI), stretched-exponential model (SEM ...

Non-Gaussian, non-dynamical stochastic resonance [PDF]
The archetypal system demonstrating stochastic resonance is nothing more than a threshold triggered device. It consists of a periodic modulated input and noise. Every time an output crosses the threshold the signal is recorded.

Generating non-Gaussian maps with a given power spectrum and bispectrum [PDF]
We propose two methods for generating non-Gaussian maps with fixed power spectrum and bispectrum. The first makes use of a recently proposed rigorous, non-perturbative, Bayesian framework for generating non-Gaussian distributions.

Classical simulation of Gaussian quantum circuits with non-Gaussian input states
We consider Gaussian quantum circuits supplemented with non-Gaussian input states and derive sufficient conditions for efficient classical strong simulation of these circuits. In particular, we generalise the stellar representation of continuous-variable

Equivalent non-Gaussian excitation method is developed to obtain the statistical moments up to 4th order of the response of non-Gaussian randomly excited systems. The non-Gaussian excitation is prescribed by the probability density function and the power

Observation impact in data assimilation: the effect of non-Gaussian observation error [PDF]
Data assimilation methods which avoid the assumption of Gaussian error statistics are being developed for geoscience applications. We investigate how the relaxation of the Gaussian assumption affects the impact observations have within the assimilation ...

Gaussian states and measurements collectively are not powerful-enough resources for quantum computing, as any Gaussian dynamics can be simulated efficiently, classically.

A non-Gaussian landscape [PDF]
Primordial perturbations with wavelengths greater than the observable universe shift the effective background fields in our observable patch from their global averages over the inflating space.

In mechanical, civil and chemical engineering systems the accuracies of flow measurement instruments is conventionally specified by certified measurement capabilities (CMCs) that are symmetric, however it is physically possible for some flow instruments ...
