A Time-Non-Homogeneous Double-Ended Queue with Failures and Repairs and Its Continuous Approximation
We consider a time-non-homogeneous double-ended queue subject to catastrophes and repairs. The catastrophes occur according to a non-homogeneous Poisson process and lead the system into a state of failure. Instantaneously, the system is put under repair,

Limit theorems for the fractional nonhomogeneous Poisson process [PDF]
AbstractThe fractional nonhomogeneous Poisson process was introduced by a time change of the nonhomogeneous Poisson process with the inverseα-stable subordinator. We propose a similar definition for the (nonhomogeneous) fractional compound Poisson process.

A notes bivariate power law processes: conditional intensity and parameter estimation techniques,
The point process model effectively represents the number of random events occurring over time through its intensity function. When events are of two types, a bivariate point process allows simultaneous analysis of each event’s intensity.

Insular organization of gene space in grass genomes. [PDF]
Wheat and maize genes were hypothesized to be clustered into islands but the hypothesis was not statistically tested. The hypothesis is statistically tested here in four grass species differing in genome size, Brachypodium distachyon, Oryza sativa ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

A fresh censored δ shock model is investigated. The arrival of random shocks follows a generalized Pólya process, and the failure mechanism of the system occurs based on the censored δ shock model.

Fatigue Crack Initiation and Growth in Nanocrystalline Ni at Multiple Length‐Scales
Overview of miniaturized in situ SEM fatigue setup and resultant fatigue crack growth data for nanocrystalline Ni. The presented study focuses on the analysis of fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) in focused ion beam‐notched microcantilevers prepared from nanocrystalline (NC) Ni as a model material.
