Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Cloud cavitation on an oscillating hydrofoil [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Cloud cavitation, often formed by the breakdown of a sheet or vortex cavity, is believed to be responsible for much of the noise and erosion damage that occurs under cavitating conditions.

Almost Periodic Solution for Forced Perturbed Non-Instantaneous Impulsive Model

open access: yesAxioms, 2022
In this paper we investigate a forced perturbed non-instantaneous impulsive model. Firstly, we prove the existence and uniqueness of an almost periodic solution for the model considered by the Banach contraction principle. Secondly, we prove that all solutions converge exponentially to the almost periodic solution.

Functional Materials for Environmental Energy Harvesting in Smart Agriculture via Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores functional and responsive materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in sustainable smart agriculture. It examines how particulate contamination and dirt affect charge transfer and efficiency. Environmental challenges and strategies to enhance durability and responsiveness are outlined, including active functional layers ...

Asymptotic properties of mathematical models of excitability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We analyse small parameters in selected models of biological excitability, including Hodgkin-Huxley (1952) model of nerve axon, Noble (1962) model of heart Purkinje fibres, and Courtemanche et al. (1998) model of human atrial cells.

Solar Heating Enhanced Selective Recovery of Metal Ions Through Flowing Electrodes Enabled by Hybrid Carbon Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A new electrochemical system based on a microporous hybrid of carbon nanoplatelets and nanotubes to selectively capture Ni2+ from wastewater is constructed. The system temperature rises rapidly when irradiated with sunlight, which enhances the Ni2+ removal rate by 250% and the selectivity by 53%, and the energy consumption is also reduced by 51 ...

Design of maneuvers based on new normal form approximations: The case study of the CPRTBP

open access: yes, 2014
In this work, we study the motions in the region around the equilateral Lagrangian equilibrium points L4 and L5, in the framework of the Circular Planar Restricted Three-Body Problem (hereafter, CPRTBP).

Stable manifolds for non-instantaneous impulsive nonautonomous differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2019
Summary: In this paper, we study stable invariant manifolds for a class of nonautonomous non-instantaneous impulsive equations where the homogeneous part has a nonuniform exponential dichotomy. We establish a stable invariant manifold result for sufficiently small perturbations by constructing stable and unstable invariant manifolds and we also show ...

Laser‐Microscribed Glass Enables Surface‐Microfluidics‐Facilitated, Affordable, Rapid Cancer Diagnosis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A transparent, laser‐microscribed glass platform enables cancer diagnosis within 1 h—much faster than histology, which takes days, and free from the chemical or contrast risks of MRI or CT scans. The antibody‐functionalized rough glass surface captures viable cancer cells directly from suspension, allowing instant optical readout and offering a rapid ...

Trap‐Assisted Transport and Neuromorphic Plasticity in Lead‐Free 2D Perovskites PEA2SnI4

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An artificial retina built from lead‐free layered perovskite (PEA)2SnI4 converts light input into a persistent photocurrent and sums successive flashes over time. Micro/nanocrystals integrated on electrodes act as synapse‐like pixels that perform temporal integration directly in hardware. This in‐sensor preprocessing merges detection and computation on
