Non-invasive aortoiliac assessment

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, 1995
To assess the accuracy of Duplex ultrasound in the assessment of aortoiliac disease.Prospective, semi-blind study.Vascular laboratory and radiology departments, University Hospital.Ninety-two patients underwent assessment of the aortoiliac segment by femoral pulse palpation, Duplex ultrasound and biplanar arteriography. Of these 184 aortoiliac segments,

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Pharmacological, non‐invasive brain stimulation and psychological interventions, and their combination, for treating depression after stroke (Review) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Review question Do pharmacological treatments, non-invasive brain stimulation (electrodes are placed on the scalp and a finely controlled electric current is applied to change brain activity), psychological treatments, or combination treatments reduce ...

Network-level macroscale structural connectivity predicts propagation of transcranial magnetic stimulation

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2021
Information processing in the brain is mediated by structural white matter pathways and is highly dependent on topological brain properties. Here we combined transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) with high-density electroencephalography (EEG) and ...

Non-invasive imaging of atherosclerosis [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Imaging, 2012
Atherosclerosis is an inflammatory disease that causes most myocardial infarctions, strokes, and acute coronary syndromes. Despite the identification of multiple risk factors and widespread use of drug therapies, it still remains a global health concern with associated costs.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Metastatic non-muscle invasive bladder cancer with cervical lymph node metastasis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Bladder cancer is a common cancer that may present as superfi cial, invasive, or metastatic disease. Non‐muscle‐invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) represents the majority of bladder cancer diagnoses, but represents a spectrum of disease with a variable ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

P16 Non-invasive detection of oesophageal varices: comparison of non-invasive assessment of systemic haemodynamics with laboratory parameters and predictive scores

open access: yes, 2010
Endoscopic screening for varices (OV) is advised in cirrhosis, repeated every 1–3 years, with primary prophylaxis given to large OV. This is costly to endoscopy units, unpleasant for patients and multiple procedures may affect compliance.
