SERS detection of antibiotics using dual plasmonic and charge transfer enhancement mechanism of Ag@MoS2 core-shell nanocomposites

open access: yesSensors and Actuators Reports
The increasing global threat of antibiotic resistance highlights the need for rapid, sensitive, and non-invasive detection methods in biological and environmental samples. In this study, we synthesized Ag@MoS₂ core-shell nanoparticles and evaluated their

Non-invasive imaging of propagating cortical rhythms

open access: yesFrontiers in Systems Neuroscience, 2015
Although cortical rhythms are known to play a fundamental role in perception and cognition, their spatiotemporal behavior is not well characterized yet, which hampers understanding of the involved mechanisms.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

In vivo laser Doppler holography of the human retina

open access: yes, 2018
The eye offers a unique opportunity for non-invasive exploration of cardiovascular diseases. Optical angiography in the retina requires sensitive measurements, which hinders conventional full-field laser Doppler imaging schemes.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Stakeholder perspectives on non-invasive brain stimulation

open access: yesScientific Reports
Non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) techniques such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) or transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) have made great progress in recent years and offer boundless potential for the neuroscientific research and

Non-invasive imaging of mid-dermal elastolysis

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dermatology, 2011
Summary Mid-dermal elastolysis (MDE) is a rare disease that is characterized histopathologically by selective loss of elastic tissue in the mid dermis. We aimed to assess MDE using noninvasive skin imaging techniques in vivo. We examined both the lesional and adjacent healthy skin of a woman with the reticular variant of MDE, using ...
