Preterm meconium‐stained amniotic fluid: A red flag for infection and adverse perinatal outcomes
Abstract Objective Meconium‐stained amniotic fluid (MSAF) is uncommon in preterm deliveries and raises concerns about maternal and neonatal infectious risks. We aimed to evaluate maternal, perinatal, and microbiological outcomes in preterm deliveries complicated by MSAF compared to clear amniotic fluid (AF) and to assess outcomes in preterm versus term

This study identifies the uncharacterized gene C9ORF50 as a novel regulator of immune evasion. Functioning as an intrinsically disordered protein, C9ORF50 drives liquid‐liquid phase separation to facilitate spliceosome assembly and maintain RNA splicing fidelity.

Partial liquid ventilation with oxygenized perfluorocarbon (PFC) is used to assess the limitations of imaging depth, caused by the refractive index mismatch between air and surfactants in the mouse lung. PFC does not help to overcome this limitation. Only removing scattering lipids and decolorization ex vivo, with tissue optical clearing, enhance the ...

Abstract Currently, the same weight‐based caffeine citrate dosing regimen is applied to all neonates. However, due to differences in growth trajectories by gestational age (GA) and altered caffeine elimination in neonates with renal injury, optimal dosing regimens may differ. In this study, we refined the existing physiologically based pharmacokinetic (

Thoracic ultrasound frequently altered ICU management decisions. Changes were more likely in patients with cardiovascular disease or hypovolemia and occurred independently of operator certification. These findings support the routine use of TUS in critically ill patients, even when performed by less‐experienced but supervised operators.
