Biomimetic Bone Marrow Monocyte Membrane‐Fused Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Therapy of Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a biomimetic delivery system (M‐hEV) by fusing monocyte membranes with extracellular vesicles for targeted therapy of damaged cardiac tissue. The system homes to injured myocardium through specific molecular pathways. In a myocardial infarction model, M‐hEV effectively accumulates in the heart, reduces infarct size, alleviates ...

Kolmogorov complexity and non-determinism

open access: yes, 2002
International audienceWe are concerned with Kolmogorov complexity of strings produced by non-deterministic algorithms. For this, we consider four classes of non-deterministic description modes : (i) Description modes in which the number of outputs ...

Parameter estimation for Gibbs distributions

open access: yes, 2023
We consider Gibbs distributions, which are families of probability distributions over a discrete space $\Omega$ with probability mass function of the form $\mu^\Omega_\beta(\omega) \propto e^{\beta H(\omega)}$ for $\beta$ in an interval $[\beta_{\min ...

CK2α Deficiency Drives Myocardial Fibrosis via Desmin‐Induced Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CK2α preserves mitochondrial homeostasis by phosphorylating Desmin to recruit Cryab, ensuring proper filament assembly. CK2α deficiency disrupts this interaction, causing mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic shifts, bioenergetic failure, and oxidative stress—ultimately establishing a pro‐fibrotic environment that drives cardiac fibrosis.

A Two-Sample Non-Parametric Likelihood Ratio Test [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper proposes a test for the hypothesis that two samples have the same distribution. The likelihood ratio test of Portnoy (1988) is applied in the context of the consistent series density estimator of Crain (1974) and Barron and Sheu (1991).

Unconventional Hysteretic Charge Filling in Moiré‐Reconstructed Helical Trilayer Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In helical trilayer graphene, sequential twisting reconstructs the moiré landscape into periodic domains separated by aperiodic boundaries. Longitudinal transport reveals sweep‐direction‐dependent hysteresis, while the Hall response traces this behavior to hysteretic charge filling at the aperiodic boundaries.

Propagation of elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beam in non-Kolmogorov turbulence

open access: yesOptics Express, 2011
The analytical formulas for the average intensity and the beam width of the elegant Laguerre-Gaussian beam (ELGB) in non-Kolmogorov turbulence have been derived based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle. Numerical results reveal that the ELGB converts to Gaussian form quicker for smaller values of beam order and for smaller wavelengths.

Propagation Properties of the COAM Matrix of Twisted Gaussian Schell-Model Beams in Non-Kolmogorov Turbulence

open access: yesPhotonics
Based on the extended Huygens–Fresnel principle and mode expansion theory, we derive the expression for the Coherence-Orbital Angular Momentum (COAM) matrix of twisted Gaussian Schell-model (TGSM) beams propagating through non-Kolmogorov turbulence ...

Physics‐Informed Neural Network‐Enabled Forward Prediction and Inverse Design of Ring Origami

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a KRT‐PINN framework that integrates Kirchhoff rod theory with physics‐informed neural networks for the forward prediction and inverse design of ring origami consisting of closed‐loop rods. The framework predicts stable states of segmented rings with prescribed natural‐curvature profiles and determines the natural‐curvature profiles ...
