Understanding Further the Phenotypic Spectrum of Central Nervous System Inflammatory Demyelinating Disorders Using Unsupervised Clustering

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) inflammatory demyelinating syndromes, including multiple sclerosis (MS), aquaporin‐4 antibody–positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (AQP4 + NMOSD), and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), occasionally overlap.

Non-Linear Dynamics Analysis of Protein Sequences. Application to CYP450

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
The nature of changes involved in crossed-sequence scale and inner-sequence scale is very challenging in protein biology. This study is a new attempt to assess with a phenomenological approach the non-stationary and nonlinear fluctuation of changes ...

Non-Kolmogorov probability models and modified Bell’s inequality [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2000
We analyze the proof of Bell’s inequality and demonstrate that this inequality is related to one particular model of probability theory, namely Kolmogorov measure-theoretical axiomatics from 1933. We found a (numerical) statistical correction to Bell’s inequality.

ON THE NON-KOLMOGOROV NATURE OF FLARE-PRODUCTIVE SOLAR ACTIVE REGIONS [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2016
ABSTRACT A magnetic power spectral analysis is performed on 53 solar active regions, observed from 2011 August to 2012 July. Magnetic field data obtained from the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager, inverted as Active Region Patches, are used to study the evolution of the magnetic power index as each region rotates across the solar disk ...

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Irradiance Scintillation Index for a Gaussian Beam Based on the Generalized Modified Atmospheric Spectrum with Aperture Averaged

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optics, 2016
This paper investigates the aperture-averaged irradiance scintillation index of a Gaussian beam propagating through a horizontal path in weak non-Kolmogorov turbulence.

Improved Fault Detection in Chemical Engineering Processes via Non-Parametric Kolmogorov–Smirnov-Based Monitoring Strategy

open access: yesChemEngineering, 2023
Fault detection is crucial in maintaining reliability, safety, and consistent product quality in chemical engineering processes. Accurate fault detection allows for identifying anomalies, signaling deviations from the system’s nominal behavior, ensuring ...

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

A non-parametric validation framework for photoplethysmography-based heart rate monitoring: a proof-of-concept study using the two-sample Kolmogorov–Smirnov test

open access: yesJournal of Applied Research in Technology & Engineering
This article establishes a non-parametric validation framework for photoplethysmography (PPG) signals intended for heart rate monitoring, formulated as a methodological proof-of-concept study. The study applies the two-sample Kolmogorov–Smirnov test as a
