An elastic-viscoplastic creep model for describing creep behavior of layered rock

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2023
To describe the full-stage creep behavior of layered rock accurately, a new elastic-viscoplastic creep model is proposed based on fractional order theory in this manuscript, which consists of a Hooke elastomer, a fractional Abel dashpot, a Kelvin body ...

Comparison of Non-linear Signals Analysis Methods

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In modern engineering, linear is relative, while non-linear and non-stationary is absolute. There are many methods in non-linear signals processing. How to select a most suitable analysis method quickly for the nonlinear signal is particularly important,

Non‐linear survival analysis using neural networks

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, 2004
AbstractWe describe models for survival analysis which are based on a multi‐layer perceptron, a type of neural network. These relax the assumptions of the traditional regression models, while including them as particular cases. They allow non‐linear predictors to be fitted implicitly and the effect of the covariates to vary over time.

Non-linear dynamic analysis of the response of moored floating structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
© 2016 Elsevier Ltd. The complexity of the dynamic response of offshore marine structures requires advanced simulations tools for the accurate assessment of the seakeeping behaviour of these devices.

Carcinomas and Carcinoid Tumors of the Lungs and Bronchi in Children and Adolescents: The EXPeRT Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

Cough Sound Analysis

open access: yesActa Medica Martiniana, 2013
Cough is the most common symptom of many respiratory diseases. Currently, no standardized methods exist for objective monitoring of cough, which could be commercially available and clinically acceptable.

Analysis of Non Linear Frequency Modulation (NLFM) Waveforms for Pulse Compression Radar

open access: yesJurnal Elektronika dan Telekomunikasi, 2018
Non Linear Frequency Modulation (NLFM) method can suppress the peak sidelobe level without additional windowing function. NLFM doesn’t require any weighting function because it has inbuilt one.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Non-Linear Geometric Analysis in Guyed Masts

open access: yesRevista Cubana de Ingeniería, 2011
A guyed mast is an example of structures with non-lineal behaviour under extreme wind loads. Cables are used to stabilize structures; changes in the stiffness of these structures give rise to non linearity.

Practical Investigation on the Strengthening of the Built-Up Steel Main Girder of a Metro Station with Carbon-Fiber-Reinforced Polymer on the Inside Part of the Tensioned Flange

open access: yesBuildings, 2023
This study investigates the effectiveness of a carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) in enhancing the load-carrying capacity of a steel main girder in a metro station.
