The non-linear effect of inequality on investment

International Review of Applied Economics, 2020
We fill a gap in the literature on the investment determinants that do not take into account distributive issues, estimating the effect of income inequality on investment based on a heterogeneous panel of 95 countries from 1990 to 2015. Additionally, we (

The non-linear effect of environmental regulation on haze pollution: Empirical evidence for 277 Chinese cities during 2002-2010.

Journal of Environmental Management, 2019
Numerous studies have examined the correlation between economic growth and air pollution, but few focuses on the nexus between environmental regulation and

Environmental regulations an option: Asymmetry effect of environmental regulations on carbon emissions using non-linear ARDL

Energy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization, and Environmental Effects, 2018
The current study reported the asymmetry effect of environmental regulations in the presence of controlled variables such as research and development spending, urban population growth, energy consumption, and financial development on carbon emissions in ...

Numerical study on magnetohydrodynic CNTs-water nanofluids as a micropolar dusty fluid influenced by non-linear thermal radiation and joule heating effect

Powder Technology, 2018
Numerical study on magnetohydrodynic (MHD) flow and heat transfer of incompressible CNTs-water nanoparticles (single wall carbon and tube (SWCNT) and multiwall cabin nanotube (MWCNT)) as a non-Newtonian micropolar dusty fluid influenced by non-linear ...

Mixed alkali effect and samarium ions effectiveness on the structural, optical and non-linear optical properties of borate glass

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 2018
Borate glasses containing lithium, sodium, and samarium ions were prepared by conventional melt annealing technique. The structural units show the presence of BO3, and BO4 units while samarium ions favored to link with OH group.

Inertial effects on non linear acoustic streaming

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
The effect of inertia on nonlinear streaming generated inside a cylindrical resonator where a mono-frequency standing wave is imposed, is investigated numerically using two codes: A code solving the full Navier-Stokes compressible equations, assuming that the flow is isentropic in order to exclude thermal effects, and a code solving the time-averaged ...

Non‐linearity in the cost‐effectiveness frontier

Health Economics, 2006
AbstractConventional cost‐effectiveness decision rules rely on the assumptions that all health care programmes are divisible and exhibit constant returns to scale for a homogeneous population; hence, the path between adjacent programmes on a cost‐effectiveness frontier must be linear. In this paper we build a framework to analyse non‐linear ‘expansion’

Non‐linear dynamical effects in semiconductor microcavities

physica status solidi (b), 2005
AbstractAn investigation of the parametric amplification and its coherent control in a semiconductor microcavity is presented. The time and angle resolved pump and probe experiments show that several picoseconds after pumping the polaritons are still coherent and parametric scattering is still going on.

Non-Linear Effects of Uncertainty

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2018
Recent empirical studies suggest that the negative effects of uncertainty shocks are stronger in recessions than during booms. In this study, I provide a theoretical mechanism that can explain this empirical observation. I start from the argument that the effect of uncertainty on investment depends on the degree of irreversibility. I then show that the
