The Influence of Subsequent Harmonics of the Load Current on Errors of Electronic Energy Meters
In the electrical installations of buildings, there is an increasing number of non-linear energy receivers, which introduce strong distortions of the load current of electronic energy meters. Since the readings of these meters are the basis for financial

Non-Intrusive Load Disaggregation by Linear Classifier Group Considering Multi-Feature Integration
Non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) is a core technology for demand response (DR) and energy conservation services. Traditional NILM methods are rarely combined with practical applications, and most studies aim to disaggregate the whole loads in a ...

On the accumulation of deleterious mutations during range expansions
We investigate the effect of spatial range expansions on the evolution of fitness when beneficial and deleterious mutations co-segregate. We perform individual-based simulations of a uniform linear habitat and complement them with analytical ...

Non-linear analysis of two-layer timber beams considering interlayer slip and uplift [PDF]
A new mathematical model and its finite element formulation for the non-linear analysis of mechanical behaviour of a two-layer timber planar beam is presented. A modified principle of virtual work is employed in formulating the finite element method. The

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Numerical model to account for the influence of infill masonry on the RC structures behaviour [PDF]
It is a common misconception considers that masonry infill walls in structural RC buildings can only increase the overall lateral load capacity, and, therefore, must always be considered beneficial to seismic performance.

Harmonic Analysis and Practical Implementation of a Two-Phase Microgrid System [PDF]
This paper analyzes the harmonic contents of a non-linear load connected to a two-phase microgrid system. Although having the same harmonic content as the single-phase power system when supplying a non-linear load under balanced conditions, the two-phase

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
