The relationship of embedded generation modes with non-linear loads
2011 5th International Power Engineering and Optimization Conference, 2011A network voltage variation gets most severe at the generator's point of connection. This variation will be illustrated by two generation modes, namely the PQ and PV modes. This paper intends to explore the effects an embedded generation modes have on a distribution system's voltage by using PSCAD/EMTDC power simulation software on a selected Malaysian

Non Linear Modelling of Masonry Structures Under Cyclic Loads
2008A continuum damage model for historical masonry, able to describe its non-linear behaviour under both static and dynamic cyclic loads, is presented. The model is based on a micromechanical approach. The hypothesis of plane stress is considered. The finite element method is adopted as a framework for numerical implementation.

Buckling load of non-linear systems with multiple eigenvalues
International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1974Abstract For structural systems with a coincident lowest eigenvalue λ c , the influence of imperfections on the buckling of the systems depends to a very large extent upon the distribution of the imperfections. Moreover, the system may buckle either at a limit point or at a bifurcation point before this limit point is reached.

Random Loads Fatigue: The Simulation of Non-Linear Systems
Volume 1: 22nd Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise, Parts A and B, 2009In this paper the problem of the correct evaluation of the stress state of mechanical components of non linear systems in the frequency domain was analysed. This is one of the most important steps in the frequency domain evaluation of the fatigue behaviour of components under random loads.

Optimization of Load Frequency Control for Non-linear System
2019The aim of this paper is to apply three optimization techniques, namely Genetic Algorithm (GA), Cultural Algorithm (CA) and Jaya-based Invasive Weed Optimization (JIWO), to the tuning of proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controllers for the load frequency control (LFC) of a non-linear two-area system, in which the frequency is to be kept uniform ...

A non-linear ARMAX for short term load forecasting
Journal of Statistics and Management Systems, 2009This paper presents a methodology for forecasting the hourly load demand of the power provider enterprise using a non-linear autoregressive moving average model with exogenous variable (NARMAX).

A UPS with Inverter Specially Designed for Non Linear Load
INTELEC '87 - The Ninth International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 1987The different blocks (rectifier, inverter, static bypass switch) in the three phase UPS model B312 are briefly discussed. The input characteristics of the commonly used diode/capacitor rectifier are discussed by analysing the input current waveform with and without a small inductor in the circuit. The source impedance influence on the total performance

Strip loads on a non-linear heterogeneous half-space
Géotechnique, 2001A non-linear heterogeneous half-space is considered as being defined by one modulus and two exponents to describe the increase of stiffness with depth and the degree of non-linearity. This ‘parabolic’ half-space contains the linear elastic models of Boussinesq, Gibson and Booker et al. as subsets.

Non Linear Stress-Strain Relations of Soils for Cyclic Loading
1998This paper critically reviews simple non-linear models based on the Masing Rules (Masing (1926) by comparison of the model predictions with the stress-strain curves obtained from monotonic and cyclic torsional shear test results on natural clays and reconstituted sands. Moreover, it is considered a model (Tatsuoka et al.
