Non-linearity Induced Weak Instrumentation [PDF]

open access: yes
In regressions involving integrable functions we examine the limit properties of IV estimators that utilise integrable transformations of lagged regressors as instruments. The regressors can be either I(0) or I(1) processes.

Holographic Zero Sound from Spacetime-Filling Branes

open access: yes, 2018
We use holography to study sound modes of strongly-interacting conformal field theories with non-zero temperature, $T$, and $U(1)$ chemical potential, $\mu$.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

HACking at Non-linearity: Evidence from Stocks and Bonds [PDF]

open access: yes
The implicit assumption of linearity is an important element in empirical finance. This study presents a hypothesis testing approach which examines the linear behaviour of the conditional mean between stock and bond returns.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Economic growth and poverty in sub‑Saharan African countries: non‑linearity and exports threshold effect

open access: yesJournal of Applied Economics
This study investigates how economic growth translates into poverty reduction in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) using NARDL and PSTR models with data from 31 countries (2000–2022).
