Non-Markovian Brownian dynamics and nonergodicity [PDF]

open access: possiblePhysical Review E, 2005
We report the breaking of ergodicity for a class of generalized, Brownian motion obeying a non-Markovian dynamics being driven by a generalized Langevin equation (GLE). This very feature originates from a vanishing of the effective friction. A novel quantity b (being uniquely determined from the corresponding memory friction kernel gamma(t)of the GLE ...

Non-Markovian Dynamics in a Dense Potassium Vapor

Physical Review Letters, 2005
Transient four-wave mixing experiments on a dense potassium vapor, which has a dephasing time long compared to the collision duration, reveal distinct signatures of non-Markovian dynamics. Theoretical fits assuming stochastic fluctuation of the excited-state frequencies confirm that the two-time correlation function has a finite temporal width.

Dynamical learning of non-Markovian quantum dynamics

Chinese Physics B, 2022
We study the non-Markovian dynamics of an open quantum system with machine learning. The observable physical quantities and their evolutions are generated by using the neural network. After the pre-training is completed, we fix the weights in the subsequent processes thus do not need the further gradient feedback.

Characterizing Non-Markovian Dynamics

2012
We characterize (non)Markovian dynamics of open quantum systems. Two recently proposed measures of non-Markovianity are analyzed: one based on the concept of divisibility of the dynamical map and the other one based on distinguishability of quantum states.

Non-Markovian macroscopic dynamics

Zeitschrift fr Physik B Condensed Matter, 1982
The embedding problem of extrapolated microphysics into the macroscopic description is considered, if Non-Markovian effects are macroscopically important. A classical heavy particle in contact with many classical oscillators is described by a retarded Langevin equation, which turns out to be essentially different from a retarded Fokker-Planck equation,
