Concepts of quantum non-Markovianity: A hierarchy [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Reports, 2018
Markovian approximation is a widely-employed idea in descriptions of the dynamics of open quantum systems (OQSs). Although it is usually claimed to be a concept inspired by classical Markovianity, the term quantum Markovianity is used inconsistently and often unrigorously in the literature.

Simulation of Non-Markovian Systems

IBM Journal of Research and Development, 1983
A generalized semi-Markov process provides a stochastic process model for a discrete-event simulation. This representation is particularly useful for non-Markovian systems where it is nontrivial to obtain recurrence properties of the underlying stochastic processes.

Non-Markovian noise

Physical Review E, 1994
Summary: The properties of non-Markovian noises with exponentially correlated memory are discussed. Considered are dichotomic noise, white shot noise, Gaussian white noise, and Gaussian colored noise. The stationary correlation functions of the non-Markovian versions of these noises are given by linear combinations of two or three exponential functions

Non-Markovian Boltzmann Equation

Annals of Physics, 1997
A quantum kinetic equation for strongly interacting particles is derived in the framework of density operator technique. In contrast to conventional kinetic theory, which is valid only on large-time scales as compared to the collision time, this approach retains the full time regime, especially on short-time scales.
